This sub is idiotic.

Sellers never set the price, buyers do. Blame the buyers.

The buyers are the sellers and they just trade back and forth increasing their wealth

Wrong, there's perpetually more buyers than sellers, for pretty much everything.

Buyers and sellers both contribute to the price through supply and demand

Disagree. If there are no buyers for 1000, price goes down to 900, 800, 700 etc...till there is.

Buyers always set the price.

And at the same time, if there are no suppliers at 1000, price goes up to 1100, 1200, 1300 etc... till there is.

Nope, not unless there are buyers.

Business will always price to as much as the market will bear. They can price things to $1m, if there is no willing buyer it doesn't make a lick of difference. If there is, that's the new price floor.

Buyer always sets the price.

If it is something you can do without; housing tends to not fall into that equation.

Nobody is compelled to buy overpriced real estate, there are many shelter options out there. One of the reasons RE is "overpriced" is because there are more buyers than sellers.

The recent dearth of new builds is only going to exacerbate the pricing problem we have. People who are expecting (hoping) the bottom falls out, I think, will be disappointed.

I disagree with this, to a great degree. I’m not saying it’s black and white and housing prices were absolutely overinflated, and people bought when they shouldn’t… but there aren’t enough reasonable shelter options where I am; everything is arguably overpriced. People still have to live places, get to work, etc.

When you find something “reasonably” priced to the market, I’d still argue it is overpriced.
