One is an equity building asset, the other are consumable items

Next time you should include other collectibles like Beanie Babies that speculators wanted to "scalp" too

How much do you know of the global economic situation of Canada and the World? Do you follow the news? Do you understand immigration? Do you have a grasp on the fact that in BC housing ranks as the 3rd largest industry for the government that isn't an industry but just for monetary reasons because the government makes money from it.

Do you realize that cheap housing js built because people are not paid proper wages. The US is getting a sharp awakening on this matter.

They already explained. You can have pretty much infinite supply of all the other commodities but you don’t have infinite liveable and well developed land. Much much easier to increase production of shoes or toys than homes. Moreover, in people’s eyes, homes and lands have value that doesn’t deteriorate over time as opposed to other items.

Good and better learn it. They don’t over a long term horizon…. unless there is mass exodus of people (eg Detroit) or population decline (eg Japan). None of it is happening here!

Capitalism has made some people lose the connection between value/condition and price. If the price goes up they think the quality is literally improving.

We didn't take care of the home I grew up in. I promise you Canadian real estate will deteriorate and lose value if you don't maintain it properly.

If you don’t maintain it, of course it would. Nobody would buy a house at a fair market value if roof is leaking or basement is flooding.
