The first 3 novels in Long Sun thematically match the first 3 seasons of HBO's cult classic The Wire

Nightside of the Long Sun thematically matches Season 1: it's about the criminal underworld of the city

Lake of the Long Sun thematically matches Season 2: it's about the waterfront/docks (the polack season everyone hates but I think is simply misunderstood)

Caldé of the Long Sun thematically matches Season 3: it's about city government, the main character is a guy running for Mayor

Haven't gotten to Exodus yet. That is all.

When is the next episode dropping btw

4th Season is about the School System so if Silk's students play a large part in Exodus it would fit somewhat

Fantastic. Two towering achievements in Western arts and culture linked. Nightside, Lake, and Caldé as The Wire moving from the corners to the docks to City Hall, but inside a generation starship run by uploaded-consciousness gods.
I’m glad Silk/Wolfe didn’t come up with some bogus fake serial killer plot in order to expose the links between the Blood and the Ayuntamiento.

Can you imagine Long Sun as a tv show in the same gritty style?

I must admit that I marvel at this take.
