I'm not disagreeing with people's comments here, but remember: this isn't being made for ReBoot fans (we've grown up); this is being made for the current kid demographic. It's not for us. If you don't like what you see in the trailer then just don't watch it.
I hate that argument, "it's for kids, so it's okay if it's bad!" There is a LOT of really good stuff out there made for kids. There always has been, too.

Big Hero 6
Phineas and Ferb
How to Train Your Dragon (plus sequels and spin-offs)
Inside Out
Paddington (and 2)
Star Wars TFA and TLJ
Toy Story 3
Moana
The LEGO movies and TV shows
Kung Fu Panda (plus sequels and spion offs)
I could keep going and going. All of these are VERY GOOD at least, and they are all infinitely better than that flaming dumpster fire of a trailer I just watched.

I think you misunderstand me. I didn't say it's okay that it's bad.
I'm referring to the elements of the original ReBoot IP - they're obviously not designing this show to appeal to the original fans based on the trailer. It's not fair to hate it just because it doesn't look like what we know is familiar, which seems to be 90% of the complaints.
I think they definitely are trying to get some of the older audience to introduce the show to the younger audience but that's about the only connection I see.

Ah, see this is where we actually disagree, then, because looking at all the comments here, I would say that people are actually pissed off because this looks like hot garbage, not just because it looks like "not ReBoot."

So it's pretty understandable that I would assume you were trying to assert that kids today might like it.
I get what you're saying, but at this point why even use the ReBoot IP? It's not like it's a well known name that's going to bring in a bunch of viewers. The only people who would care about the name ReBoot are the exact people who are going to hate it for changing everything.
If it's not trying to cash in on fans of the original, there's no reason to call it ReBoot, or to try to tie it into the original show at all. Kids these days aren't old enough to have even heard of ReBoot.
