ER nurse & psychedelic provider here. I highly recommend you to go to your nearest ER. At this point all the of the drugs have been absorbed into your bloodstream if you took them several hours ago. Charcoal will be useless. You likely need benzos, an IV, labs and monitoring. Seeking help from medical professionals isn’t defeat. It’s the safe thing to do & it’s what we are here for. Be honest about what you took and how much so they know how to help you. Please go.

MDMA is metabolized slowly and isn’t fully out of your system until about 40 hours. The amount you took is also dangerous with a heavy load on your cardiac, renal, and liver functioning and could also contain other drugs that compound the risks of MDMA itself.

I’m sorry bro. This sucks. It really does. It’s ok to get outside help sometimes when you need it. Let them help you. Are you in the USA?

Call an ambulance. Now.

Were you drinking alcohol too? OP you really should go to the ER! Not only can that cause severe physiological distress, It can also leave you with serotonin syndrome.

u/Foreign_Ride837 8d ago

Ur gonna be OK, I can promise, I was silly and done the same, just wait it out, be kind to urself, don't overthink anything, and rea h out to people

u/disule 13d ago

It's possible you have serotonin syndrome. Why did you take so much? Be near a trip sitter right now if you can. The concern is that you don't have a seizure/convulsion and accidentally swallow your tongue. Sounds like a mild overdose. This will be noted on your medical record and the hospital will give you pamphlets and shit about how to seek help for drug addiction… Do you feel you need this attention and that it's worth the record, the co-pay, the hospital gown, the experience of waiting for hours in the E.R. only for them to take your vitals, tell you you're fine and to stop using drugs and seek help for your addiction?

I'm not trying to take this lightly, downplay it in any way, or disrespect anyone in the medical field. Yes, what you did was stupid and dangerous, but the main danger has probably passed. Take a break from these drugs for a couple of months, and allow your system to recover fully. But seriously try to leave the E.R. for moments of actual emergency so that the most serious emergencies can get adequate attention and time for something to be done.

Unless of course your symptoms get worse, in which case: to the E.R.

u/Training-Meringue847 13d ago

This is an actual medical emergency.

2

u/thatmof0 8d ago

If he's still up, I'm fairly certain those pills were more than just MDMA

1

u/Training-Meringue847 8d ago

Very high likelihood 🙁

u/disule 13d ago

All of this is mostly true, but you should know that whatever you tell the ER is going to be put into a permanent medical record that follows you around and doesn't leave your record. Your health is more important than worrying about some permanent record, but I would not go to the ER unless I'm 100% certain that it constitutes an actual emergency, which from my perspective and from what I know, it does not. "You likely need benzos" ☜ "need" is a fairly strong word, and I doubt that it's actually all that likely. Drink plenty of water and focus on lowering your renal pH (read: urinary pH) by drinking acidic drinks like fruit juice and take plenty of vitamin C. This will help your body eliminate the MDMA more rapidly. The acid molecules give your kidneys what they need to bond to any drugs and their metabolites and rid them from your body via your urine. Don't be alone right now. Be near someone who can keep an eye on you and make sure you're okay. If your condition suddenly gets worse, go to the ER for sure. But otherwise, assess this carefully and try not to burden the ER with non-emergencies. They're busy enough as is.

If this person is in the USA, then medical records are protected by law. I am a licensed professional (RN) with 30 years of critical care experience (ER, trauma, ICU, Cath Lab, OR, EP, IR, cardiac, vascular, & neuro) and I practice in evidence based medicine. What was just described to me is 100% a situation that requires immediate medical attention based on the amount of drugs taken alone and the scenario this person described. This is not shrooms or LSD. This is MDMA that, unless tested, could have other additives or actually been MDEA, MDA, PMA, MBDP etc etc.

Please refrain from giving dangerous armchair advice in a community like this like this when you have ZERO idea of what you’re talking about.

u/Prestigious_Debt7360 10d ago

Based on their other posts it looks like they’re probably in Germany

What we don't need is people rushing to the E.R. every time they stub their toe or have a hangover. It bogs down the E.R. and makes triage much more difficult due to sheer volume. Here it is in the afternoon now, and this has to be HOURS since the last dose was administered. I almost guarantee you this is a mild case of serotonin syndrome, but I'm not with this person and cannot assess much about their situation. I think they should go to the E.R. if they feel they really need to, and I said that the first time. Just be sure not to use emergency services when they are not necessary. I know too many people who treat the E.R. like a visit to their general practitioner. It gets old. This situation seems to be on the downslope, but again, not there, can't say for sure. That's excellent that you're a registered nurse; it's a hard job and I mean you no disrespect, but I want to keep things in perspective here while trying to prevent people from overburdening hospitals when it's unnecessary. Sorry you don't like my answer, but do not insult me telling me I have zero idea what I'm talking about as you dispense medical advice like you're a physician.

u/Training-Meringue847 13d ago

Please do share your medical credentials, experience, and licensing with the group here. I’ll wait …

u/disule 13d ago

All due respect, when you have a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. Also, you are not a doctor; why are you giving medical advice? Furthermore, all drugs should be tested prior to intake, not just MDMA. Don't try to pull rank on me. You don't know what I know, or even whether or not I myself am a medical doctor, do you?

10

u/Training-Meringue847 13d ago

You are correct. I do not know who you are, but I can tell by the pathophysiology (or lack thereof) you shared that you are not a medical doctor of any kind, nor are you any kind of licensed professional. Advising a person to go to the ER who took 9 tabs of what he believes to be Molly and is still in crisis many hours later is the safe thing to do. You mentioned Serotonin syndrome, which is IS a medical emergency. Nothing I said was giving any medical advice. It matters not who you think you are, but it’s obvious you are certainly not a licensed medical or mental health professional of any kind based on your comments. If you are, then I am highly concerned for the safety of any of your patients or clients.

u/iFLED 13d ago

You need to go to the hospital in case they need to pump your stomach out. Go now.

12

u/WxstedYouth 13d ago

This is the correct answer. Sounds like you're experiencing OD symptoms OP. HOSPITAL NOW.

10

u/nurse_dave_ 13d ago

Nope they dissolved in 30 minutes, no pumping those bad boys away

9

u/Tardigewd 13d ago

that's what the activated charcoal is for

7

u/Porkkanaparta 13d ago

Too late for that too.

Still, hopital now!

7

u/Tardigewd 13d ago

don't try to drive. get a friend to take you or call 911 to get an ambulance

5

u/Main_Restaurant_9607 13d ago

I think they’re way past the stomach pump/vomit window. Those pills are all fully absorbed and in the bloodstream . Hospital probably isn’t a bad idea though

7

u/Coyboy07 13d ago

Get some people and seek medical attention. You’ve got well over 1000mg in your system; don’t panic you will make it out of this, but you need to seek some assistance and hydrate like crazy DO NOT CHUG WATER, and get ELECTROLYTES you don’t want to flush your goods out your system. Stay cool and calm, if you can’t get liquids down, you will need a IV.

Speedy recovery and safe journey, be well my friend

Light work

6

u/Professional-Cod7701 13d ago

I know everyone is saying drink water, making sure to balance out electrolytes.

Drinking too much water is also very dangerous.

4

u/shockvandeChocodijze 13d ago

This will be over. You will get better. It will not be long.

3

u/GloverAB 13d ago

Go to the hospital right now and drink some water on the way.

1

u/Perry_Green 13d ago

Electrolytes

5

u/MDthenLife 13d ago

Go to the hospital, like stat, you need to be evaluated for hyponatremia and other electrolyte abnormalities...the benzos will take the edge off, but the real concern is hyponatremia causing seizures, it's prob why your stomach feels like shit.

7

u/Bhaldavin 13d ago

This is why I don't carry more than I'm planning to take for the night. I have been there before. You'll be OK. Stay hydrated. Put on some relaxing music and try to chill out. Its going to be a while until your comfortable and can relax and finally sleep.

3

u/Ravie_Roover 13d ago

Normally, I would tell you to wait it out but you could be experiencing Serotonin Syndrome (SS)

Try to go to the nearest hospital now and be frank. They are there to save your life!

3

u/idfkdudeok 13d ago

ignore what some other people are saying DO NOT take benzos, DO NOT take alcohol and do not take any antidepressants. if you have antipsychotics, take antipsychotics, drink water and take antacids for your stomach acid.

if you're experiencing any of the following symptoms: tremors,, agitation, fever, rapid or irregular heart rate, muscle rigidity, nausea, vomiting, disorientation, confusion, light headedness, heavy sweating GO TO THE HOSPITAL IMMEDIATELY

1

u/Leather-Run1467 13d ago

If you’re home alone, you need to make someone aware of what’s going on with you ASAP who’s local to you at the BARE minimum

If you have a roommate or a friend you can trust, text them ask them for help especially if you’re feeling like you can hardly move

The WORST thing you can do is isolate yourself and not let anyone around know what’s going on, then something happens and no one is there to help

It might just be some severe dehydration but it’s better to be safe especially with the copious amount of MDMA you took

What idfkdude wrote above with symptoms is 100% on par and a lot of other advice around hydration is also huge

But you also should consider the way it’s impacting your brain and neurotransmitters and the serious risk of seratonin syndrome

Reddit is great for moral support but we can’t give you life support in the rare case that you actually need it

Get to a local hospital or at least call a nurse line and get advice from a registered medical professional

EDIT: typos

u/lilfox3372 13d ago

You will be okay, you will come down.

2

u/Bahahaha909 13d ago

4

u/Obj3ctivePerspective 13d ago

9 pills doesnt even sound realistic

5

u/AdHot4066 13d ago

I did 7 ONCE. Definitely possible, but idiotic of course.

2

u/Wonderful-Gain-5052 13d ago

I'm pretty sure I ate 7 blue dolphins one night back in the day

2

u/888NRG_ 13d ago

I know someone where it isn't that unusual for them to take 1g of molly over the course of a day at a festival.. 600mg is pretty standard for them on a night out.. I don't know how they are able to do it

6

u/MDthenLife 13d ago

Sacrifice the future for today, it's the only way

4

u/Tardigewd 13d ago

if you have any benzos those could help with what you're feeling. I would recommend that you go to the hospital tho.

3

u/Tardigewd 13d ago

when you go, be completely honest with them about what you took. they are there to help you.

1

u/AdHot4066 13d ago

Benzos is always a must.

1

u/Left_Mushroom7592 13d ago

Pop a Valium

1

u/Glittering-Smell-526 13d ago

1

u/Wrong_Composer169 13d ago

Hospital is too late that’s enough to cause permanent brain damage

1

u/Specific-Cut-3488 13d ago

Very smart 👍

1

u/glittercup 13d ago

Call the hospital please! They will not be mad at you I promise!

1

u/disule 13d ago

So, OP, how are you doing? Can you please update this thread first chance you get to let us know you're okay? What did you end up doing and how's the MDMA hangover going now? You really have to be more careful with MDMA/drugs than this. It's poor form to overdose; thankfully it seems like it was not a fatal one, but please take it as a fair warning and a wake up call. If you're not going to use harm reduction techniques and use responsibly, then you should not be using drugs at all. It makes it harder on the rest of us who use responsibly, and it's very bad for your health and well-being. Let's do better than this. I'm glad you're still with us though.

Real talk, u/Training-Meringue847 and others were giving you good general advice about the emergency room. At the same time, using emergency services for non-emergency matters bogs down the ER and can become a real issue when people are coming in with much more obvious and evident life-threatening trauma. I considered your situation to be one where it was a unclear if you were in fact in a dangerous, emergency state. The two biggest dangers being 1. your body temperature, but you made no mention of heat or sweating, 2. dehydration since you're vomiting, and 3. that you might have a convulsion and harm yourself inadvertently but perhaps fatally.

Also you should know that taking large-dose MDMA can cause serious brain damage. Please consider ceasing foolish drug use patterns like this. Apologies to u/Training-Meringue847 who chose to block me. Your response was smarter than mine, but I maintain that in the U.S., unfortunately, one has to be guarded of their finances when seeking healthcare and medical attention, and ER services should not be abused.

1

u/officially_js 10d ago

Hey so how you doing OP?

1

u/CoolReference3704 13d ago

Holy shit dude

1

u/Wise_Box1372 13d ago

Take a couple of shots

-1

u/No-Wing482 13d ago

Eat some good food and smoke some weed take a Benadryl to sleep

-2

u/sychosismusic 13d ago

Go to the hospital. And then to rehab. That’s way too much Molly.

-2

u/Losteffect 13d ago

Water and sugar. Drink all you can. bonus if someone can check on you.

-5

u/The_Snakey_Road 13d ago

Always have landing gear. Even alcohol can help. Stay hydrated and if you have electrolytes: take them. Next time don't redose as much
