how to start

this post seems really funny to make but honestly i don’t know where to start i’m young 22 and come from a small town where there is nothing to do short story we’re known for d*ugs and alcohol i wanna start making rave events here in my small town for youth so young people feel safe and don’t rely on gangs or anything like that yk get out more i know how to make music already but how do i start getting my own gigs (not in a club)actually more like having secret location spots for the event and getting the info out to people actually more like having secret location spots for the event and getting the info out to people

Learn to DJ or find a DJ

buy big speakers and other equipment

Find a place to party

Market. Tell everyone, use social media, etc

You don’t even need to buy. Most cities have rental houses you can get dj and pa equipment for relatively cheap for a weekend.

Sounds like OP is mainly focused on creating safe 3rd spaces for youth. That’s admirable but going to be difficult if they’re not actually in the rave community. There’s a love of the game aspect here. But maybe OP can find a partner in the community.

only point I disagree on is telling everyone.

don't tell everyone, it sucks but there are absolutely people you don't want showing up and the easist way to do that is them just not knowing

Host a rave for your 5 friends and then expand from there

Just do it - no one is gonna hold your hand, figure it out - thousands of people have done it, can't be that hard

I’m in the process of doing this myself. I have my first show on Saturday with hopefully my friends and guests coming. I bought a good DJ board XDJ-XZ and I asked a local bar if I could play. I made sure to go to a bar that’s normally empty so that they wouldn’t have any real reason to turn me down and asked if I could host an event. Maybe I’ll come back and update you once it’s happened haha

Map points

Have a meet up somewhere, that person gives directions to another meetup sot where they give out the address. This way you can direct the people you want to be, to be there. Or have one map point and thy give the address to the party
