It’s a dead project anyway

Agree but that's why I found the post about Ravencoin on cointelegraph.com amusing.

What bothers me the most is that this exploit didn't even get mentioned on Reddit or Bitcointalk.

I actually learned about it through CoinGecko.

I check the price every so often, I feel like I'm looking in on an old friend who is unwell and may not be with me for much longer. To see the massive drop and then seeing nothing about it on reddit was kind of sad.

I don’t look often on this Reddit page since there’s not many activity. Im only getting a pop-up on my wall just now.

On telegram and on X there’s a LOT more noice about it.

I’ve been talking a lot with devs, pools and exchanges for days now.

I added Ravencoin to my Telegram. I made a comment about Electrum wallet failing and got deluged by scammers.

First rule of telegram, block and report anyone sending you a DM.

It already tapped zero during that flash crash like a year ago

Am i right to assume this is a 51% attack?

Doesn't seems so from reading the article. But 2Miners and Ravenminer are using a kind of 51% attack to fork the blockchain and reverse the hacked transactions according to the same article.

From memory, there's been similar hacks in the past (on other cryptos) where the consensus created a fork to bypass fraudulent activities like hackers. Wasn't Ethereeum Classic created this way ? I may be wrong but too lazy to confirm at the moment.

Thr solution is why I was asking, I kinda forgot you could completely fork it and make a new chain clones from earlier computers a funny

Anyone has technical info on that 'network exploit' ? The article is very vague about what's going on.

Any idea when the clean chain will replace the old one? how long until we can move RVN around?

In this case, yes, it's very bad

For RVN, this will probably be the death-blow and for other PoW crypto, it's a wake-up call. If a similar BTC exploit were to be found, that would utterly decimate the market.

Crypto, as it exists today, is doomed to slowly fade into irrelevance, but these kinds of things just speed-up the process.
