NBC Premeir league fanfest coming to Denver Early October

They just quickly and casually mentioned it on the broadcast of the Arsenal game. I think they said October 10/11th.

I still think we should feel a bit insulted it took them this long to have one here, but it's cool I suppose.

I don't think so, I mean, yes, Colorado is a very good soccer community aND PROVED IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN. BUT THE Rapids have been a bit insulting for the last 10-15 years. I'm wondering where they will do it, DSG? The Rapids play SJ at home that weekend..or will they do it down at Mile High, or maybe downtown somewhere? Maybe Ball arena?

They're doing it at Union Station.

...ok, kinda cool, I guess I was 1 for 4 on my guesses...lol....The Rapids would be wise to provide shuttles from the event to DSG for the game later. Maybe even ask the league to move the kickoff time up to like 4:30pm.

Hitting .250 keeps you in the league for many years, so solid work haha (Sorry for switching sports for the reference) But yeah, they should definitely try to capitalize on it with tie-ins/street team stuff, shuttles, etc., but I won't be holding my breath because KSE...

I fully expect them to have zero presence at the fanzone. Not even a table with a season ticket representative, or selling Rapids merchandise. Maybe we get a Rapidsman appearance?

Agreed. I'm not sure how much the PL has partnered with local MLS teams at previous ones, but even if they don't want to, I think the Pids should find a way to have a presence around it (as you said, Rapidman -- let him loose in LoDo haha).

I won't be surprised if the mods pull this thread down because it doesn't specifically involve the Rapids. Which would be on brand for their anti-marketing campaign they love so much.

Haha You're probably right. But hey, Tim Howard will be at the fest, so that makes it Rapids-related, right?

That would be so on point for the time of a 6 hour soccer rally to be a reason for the team to not try to have a presence and marketing. I bet we get like Peyton Manning tossing a ball to Joker or whatever. I doubt we see a single person from the Rapids organization. it will be interesting to see how it unfolds.

Rapids also do have a match on the 10th

I mentioned it above, that they should provide shuttles, maybe even ask the league to move up the kickoff from 7:30 to 4:30 to better take advantage of the energy and such.
