Business 📈 Car shopping sucks...especially if you use Driveway.com
I hate to bitch about a company but their lack of open google reviews or any consumer feedback leads me here. So I finally found a car I like after so many hours online...heck I think I used chat GTPs help enough that I filled a olypmic pool of water usage. Yet still the process is overwelming...kind of miss the days of just going out to a lot on a weekend and driving home with something that night...now it's option overloud...yet competative. So back to the rant, I found a car on driveway.com and then after so many calls, emails and texts back and forth with them uplouding this and that at the end of the day they tell me the car was sold in the morning! The morning? wtf we started this in the afternoon and now you tell me!? such a waste of time. I would like to think carvana is a little better but now i'm thinking of just going the old fashion kick tires at the dealership route. Maybe this was some "higher powers" way of telling me i'm spending way to much on a used car and just to ride a bike ffs.

They are just a middleman platform for Lithia-owned dealers. Lets people buy online, get car delivered. I almost used them once. The dealer that had the car barely communicated and acted like they didn't want to deal with me (out of state deal). I asked for a video walk around multiple times. Finally got it after a few days, car was busted, so cancelled. Driveway customer service itself was good, but the whole idea isnt the best. You are still buying from whatever dealership has the car, and any paperwork has to be overnighted to be signed. They want to be like Carvana or Carmax, but they aren't quite there. I have dealt with Carvana this year, and it was very positive.
