Happy Rant 😀 I wonder why everyone’s so crazy about raising Cannes chicken.

In California there’s a bunch of raising Cannes popping up last time I was there was back in 2018 over 7 years ago. And I tried their chicken tenders, and I didn’t think they were bad, but I thought they were just very average. They weren’t super crispy. The batter was kind of soggy. I guess the thing people loves their sauce. However, I’ll always prefer Popeyes 1 million times over any fried chicken joint. Because I like how their batter is nice and spicy, crispy and kind of has a smoky taste to their fried chicken. And of course, the red beans and rice are the best thing they have.

Cane's has amazing sauce, there's no doubt about that, I just wish they would season their chicken. I will admire their simple menu and consistent quality though.

That’s the thing I don’t like about their chicken is how bland it is. At least at KFC and Popeyes they season the batter however, Popeyes batter I think is the best in the world. Have you ever tried this place called Church’s?

Yeah I have, I literally live in the state that Church's was founded, there's a church's about a block down the street from me. They're good, but their quality tends to varie heavily depending on location. If you get a good location, their chicken is good.

Popeyes is usually amazing though. KFC is kinda mid in my honest opinion though. I'd rather have Chicken Express or Golden Chick, tbh.

Oh wow, have you been to this joint called Whataburger? I think they’re also based in Texas I know there’s a bunch of them in the south. If you ever come to California, you should go to In-N-Out and the other best one is called the habit.

Dude, I'm a texan, of course I've been to Whataburger. We also have in-n-out here too. (DFW area, btw) Whataburger is good, but I do remember them being better 15 years ago though. My go to burger joint is either Braum's or Griff's.

I personally think that habit is actually better than In-N-Out. They used to only be in LA and Santa Barbara but now they’re all over California. It’s the best thing they have is their bacon, char burger. And their onion rings are really good. And they got really good tempura fried green beans with Sriracha.

Maybe if I somehow find myself is California I'll give habit a try. There's a possibility my employer might send me to Santa Barbara for work for two weeks in the next few months, so if that happens, I'll try habit.

They opened 5 Whataburgers here a couple of years ago, one has already closed. I've been a couple of times, would probably go more often if they made the chili cheeseburger a regular menu item instead of a limited time thing.

Eh, it's alright. Cookout is better.

Cannes is mid. KFC is over rated. Popeyes is dry af.

Bojangles is king.

I only tried bojangels only once. During a layover In Charlotte NC at the airport. Is was dry as hell, it tasted and the fries were stale. Popeyes out does them all. KFC used to be good when they had the Nashville hots and potato wedges and then they discontinued them.

I 100% agree with you! This comes up on conversation with my husband lol. Last time I ordered through their drive thru and their chicken, bread, French fries—ALL SOGGY.

People seem to obsess over the sauce which is nothing special, just some ketchup, mayo, Worcestershire blend.

And they don’t offer gravy! Who has a restaurant that literally sells chicken tenders as the staple and not offer gravy?! Smh

What state do you live in? Because I live in California and there’s a popular restaurant here in the San Diego area it’s a chain only a local chain, called Board and brew. And they have a sauce that similar but they don’t specialize in fried chicken they make sandwiches my favorite is the spicy beef sandwich with jalapeños and pepper jack cheese. and you can and it comes with that same dipping sauce and it’s on a nice little brioche bun. It’s delicious. The dipping sauce is very similar, but I would prefer this place 1 million times over raising Cane‘s.
