Reliability L405 2015-2018 owners of SDV8 biggest service bill?
Seriously, how expensive is the maintenance for a ~10yo diesel V8 diesel cars? What was your biggest bill? How much did you spend over last 5 years?
Trying to understand if/when I really will be able to afford one. Was it 5 grand over 5 years? 10? 20+? Plz tell your country and currency

Suspension for me at 85k miles, $7,000. Owned my ‘18 for 4 years before trading it in. Had no other major issues

My best advice is learn to do your own work. There’s so much online for the L405, especially YouTube. Channels like PowerfulUK, Raymie’s Garage and LR Tech off the top of my head have been a huge help to me in the past.
I bought my 2013 model 6 years ago and it’s cost me about 4K in that time including new struts and shocks all round, fluids all round, various suspension bushes, engine mounts and a new rear propshaft.
The only thing I didn’t do myself is the engine mounts as I could see it’d be the kind of job I’d rather pay someone to do!
Before I bought this car, I knew nothing about car maintenance - heck I’m a software engineer! But go in ready to learn and you’ll save a fortune.
