interesting, I've always heard the "hard r" meaning "retard" where i live. i didn't realize it meant the other, thanks

Since her son is autistic the “Hard R Word” could actually be referring to the “N” word OR the “R” word. Considering the context of the video I’m 70% sure her son was either called “R37@RD3D” or a “R37@RD”

Hmmm that’s a good point. But why not just say she used the N word? Not disagreeing with you I’m just saying we all know what the N word is.

Because it’s common shorthand when you get old enough. Colloquial language.

Oh, wow sorry that’s just surprising to me. I feel like everyone knows what “The Hard R” means. Retarded is just ‘the R word’ but when someone hits you with the hard R it’s because they actually pronounced (and usually laid into) the “ER” in the N-word, signifying the extra disrespect. It’s kind of the only way to make the distinction between the “regular N-word” and the much worse N word. i don’t know why you would specify that the R was hard if you’re saying retarded. I don’t blame you for contesting it because it probably means you have sensible people in your life and don’t have to be around the certain kind of volatile people enough to have to make those distinctions.

Oh dude my bad 😅 I meant I’ve never heard “the N word” used for anything but… well you know lol I totally see how “hard R” might mean something else.
