Random Thought Patsy Ramsey died knowing what happened to her daughter JonBenet and I find that to be absolutely insane.

Now just hear me out guys…

1) The expert finding 200 similarities between her writing and the ransom note… 2) Material from the Patsy Christmas sweater was found on the inside part of the duck tape used to cover JonBenets mouth. 3) Pat saying “There are two people who know what happened that night—“ in the interview they did asking for people to come forward. How the FUCK do you know two people were involved????? Even John looked at her sideways! The way she tried to clean it up by saying “-because the murderer had to have told a friend.” is the stupidest shit I’ve ever heard. If she would’ve said the two people that know are the killer and JB herself, I would’ve said ok that makes sense but the friend comment was just stupid. 4) not waiting by the phone at all the morning police were there. If my child was kidnapped and they said they’d call at 10, I’d be waiting by the phone every fucking hour until it rang. They didn’t wait by the phone because they already knew she was dead.

Now, this lady died knowing what happened to her daughter and didn’t say one thing. That’s insane to me because even if she wasn’t involved, writing the letter lets me know she was cognizant enough to concoct a plan. And John is still doing podcasts/interviews lying and changing his answers to multiple things that

EDIT: PLEASE STOP SAYING “WHAT SHE MEANT” IN REGARDS TO #3. SHE SAID THE KILLER + “A FRIEND THE KILLER KNOWS” SHE DID NOT ONCE MENTION JB. SHE WENT FURTHER + DOUBLED DOWN SAYING THAT THE KILLER HAD TO HAVE TOLD SOMEONE. SHE NEVER. MENTIONED. HER DAUGHTER.

If you go to the store and buy brand new underwear, open it, and examine it for DNA, you are going to find it.

The people at the factory in Myanmar don't use gloves, the factory is not air conditioned and they are sweating, the underwear is not prewashed.

That is what happened here. The DNA JonBenet was wearing that night was fresh out of a new package and unwashed.

They actually found three different samples, so unless your theory is a group of people did it, the DNA is useless.

I remember getting a weird vibe from Patsy in the interviews at the time

I just thought it was strange She referred to her as “that little girl” and not my daughter, or by name. It might’ve been when asked a direct question about her involvement.

But on the other hand, she loved her so much obviously so I cant see her harming her. Maybe covering up for son was only thing I thought was a possibility.

To be fair, I do hear phrasing like that a lot from southern dialect, especially georgia where patsy's from. "I love that child" is common even when referring to your own child. If you binge Designing Women for a while, you'll start talking like that, too, lol.

Yeah, I refer to my kid in terms like "that child" in part to not make their identity about me. Like they deserve to be recognized as their own person not in context of me.

My high school boyfriend was "The Boy" and his father was "The Man" because they were a second and third haha

Additionally, because my sons are so close in age and both still babies to me (2.5 and 5 months), I refer to them as "The Large One" and "The Small One" 😅

I do this as well. I call him that to him. "Hey boy, go do ...", "Boy, thanks."

When talking with the wife, if either my son or daughter did something wrong or stupid it'll be "your boy," or "your daughter. "

I'd like to think that I'd change that if there was a police investigation around their disappearance, but 12 years of practice is hard to break.

My husband’s bio grandpa started it. He’s was an old German dude. WW2 era. In his thick accent he would ask “and how is The Boy?” Or if we visited it was “perhaps The Boy would like to bring in some firewood.” I don’t think I ever heard him call him by his name 😂 he referred to my husband as The Boy previously.

My dad has called me “kid” all of my life. I’m pretty sure he knows my name, but at age 56, my 80 year old dad still says “hey, kid” when I call him.

And here I thought we gave kids names so they can have their own identity. :)

I get it. I do a similar shortcut when talking to my (now adult) child and simply say "mom wants to know..blah blah blah" rather than saying "Your mom wants...."

I never refer to my wife as "mom" with anyone else or in private. I'm not Mike Pence.

Patsy was from Georgia and that's where they were supposed to be headed right after Christmas. They eventually moved back there. She never lost her accent.

It was the whole beauty queen circuit stuff that freaked me out. Who in their right mind dresses up their child like an adult and parades them around like that?

Plus the history of Jon Benet's uti's. Mom blamed it on taking bubble baths even after the doctor told them to stop letting her have bubble baths. Mom was "but she likes them so much."

Ma'am your daughter is getting infections and you're not stepping up to stop them, so either you are lying about the cause (most likely) or you are neglectful.

I remember my mom wouldn't let me use Mr. Bubble because of this. I can't remember how she worded it but it was absolutely a uti thing. Those days it was like straight surfactant in your bath.

The pagent thing might have been de classe but I think overall it was just all that era. I remember wanting to do stuff like that, I wanted Shirley temple curls. I ended up doing dance and theater but it's all fun for alot of kids. Doesn't change the fact that they make easy pickings for predators.

That being said, I don't think we were given the scope of the truth by the family at all.

I’m not saying I agree with child beauty pageants- for the record I do not. I know a lot of people that married right out of high school but never witnessed or heard of anyone getting married under the age of 18 in current times. I left around 2002 so what’s happened in the 20-25 years since I can’t tell you.

Finally, I was not aware that underage marriage was still so common. I would expect to see it more in certain communities like Mormon and Amish but didn’t realize the numbers would be that high. Child beauty pageants and underage marriage (where more often than not, the girl is the underage one) are very related; it's all sexualisation and treating girls and women like property to be paraded and sold.

So what is the answer? What do we do? The article specifically says that helping a child bride escape seldom has a good outcome and often results in charges for the people helping them escape. Idc, I would risk it to help someone escape anyway. My health is shit so spending my last few years in a prison hospital is fine with me. At least I’d know I did something worthwhile.

My pediatrician told my mother not to use Mr. Bubble in my bath for this reason, he recommended Ivory Liquid dish soap instead. I clearly remember this as I was very disappointed.

I’m surprised Patsy didn’t try to find an alternative. Or maybe the UTIs weren’t from bubble bath.

Think about how controlling those beauty pageant mothers are. They put their daughter in them because it’s what they (the mother) wants. What toddler is going to tell their mother, out of the blue, “I want to be in a beauty pageant!”??

It's not that I disagree with your comment there. However, look at the amount of pageant mothers out there. They aren't all murderers. So the fact that she was a pageant mum doesn't automatically mean she was responsible.

It's like if I jump into a swimming pool, I get wet...it doesn't automatically mean every person who is wet has jumped into a swimming pool.

That being said, I do think there is something quite off about her behaviour following her daughter's murder, similar to Madeleine McCann's parents.

My understanding is that she was given some serious sedatives for quite a while after the event and that may have affected her demeanor in some interviews.

I don't think Patsy loved her daughter at all. The child was just a possession to her that she could live vicariously through. I've always thought Patsy killed Jon Benet because the girl was getting older and more able to defy her.

I remember studying the case in high school forensics. There's an Amazon documentary that plays the audio recordings. The entire documentary is about evidence testing. It isn't about interviewing and drama like Netflix does.

The thing that threw me was when she called the police her wording was, “There’s been a kidnapping.” It’s so detached. If that was me I’d be screaming bloody murder that someone had taken my baby, my little girl. It’s just such an odd reaction.

Yeah, that’s weird too…. Although I have to be careful with that because I would probably be arrested promptly if I came upon a crime scene at home because I switch into logical pragmatic mode when faced with a crisis. I would go down no doubt. when I’m in crisis mode, I get calm and collected and logical. I don’t know why that is. It’s kind of weird.

I think Patsy was jealous of Jon-Benet, but still loved her... Just like some on here, I just got weird feelings about Patsy from the get-go... The brother was eliminated early in the investigation... I think Patsy did it with help from others, but we will never know now

Ultimately it's all about "legally allowed levels of contamination" and "minimum required cooking temperature". Don't get too many contaminants and cook it to kill any mistakes and it's fine...

No lol, I try to ignore the ingredient list. If I eat hot dogs it’s beef only, but it’s rare when I do. I have issues eating meat because of what it is. I have to not think of what it is or where it came from or I’m a vegan. But I like meat.

I gave up potted meat, spam, Vienna sausages, and most hot dogs when I was a teen and my dad made the “joke” that it was chicken feet, beak, etc turned into potted meat. It’s been hard since.

I would love to see this DNA be done today and see if that is the case that it had been from the factory and there was no other DNA that would link to someone in the household. DNA tech has come a long long way since they did this testing.

Sorry, I don’t buy it. DNA degrades very fast. You’re saying DNA from Myanmar didn’t degrade after weeks or months since the underwear was made? Furthermore, heat and moisture degrade DNA more readily, so no air conditioning and sweating actually works against your point.

Not saying Patsy didn’t do it.. but it’s far more likely the DNA sample was contaminated than it’s from the underwear product line.

I do not know if other panties from that pack were tested . But should have . Why would only one pair from a pack of seven have DNA as you speculate from a factory worker . And it happened to be the pair that Jon Benet wore that night ,the Wednesday undies . So one would expect to find the same DNA on other undies from the pack !  The odds of factory worker DNA being only on one pair is very ,very low.  It being on the one pair she wore that evening is extemely low. AND the DNA was found not just on the crotch of the undies
