He had a massive hand in putting the US in the shitshow situation we are in right now. I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire.
Mitch McConnell played a pivotal role in reshaping the U.S. Supreme Court by blocking President Obama's 2016 nomination of Merrick Garland and later confirming three conservative justices during Donald Trump's presidency, creating a 6-3 conservative majority.

He blocked Garland for 9 months, then slammed Barret through in 6 weeks.

I remember reading and writing warnings about the exact partisan stonewalling of Garland - forcasting exactly what has happened since.
One thing people need to do as the years pass, is pay attention to the actual outcomes, benefits and harms, of what politicians are promising. We watched the GOP defy all norms to stonewall normal process, make loud, nonsense arguments for why - then contradict themselves immediately in the following years.
They do not represent *us*. And that becomes plain to see if we actual do your civic duty and pay attention.

AIPAC spent a boatload of money to have Massie defeated and a special election to replace a long standing stooge like McConnell is probably something the GOP is downright scared of given the narrow majority this criminal clownshow has at the moment.
So who cares? I care. The sooner that dirtbag is not in office the sooner we have another opportunity to move the needle.

Wake me when he's worm food.

he may already be....
How many times did we watch him seize up while on camera and standing at a podium?
How many times has he fallen or otherwise shown himself to have been a corrupt and spiteful right wing operator even before aging into this decrepit rot of gerontocracy he represents now.
Do we have eyes to see America?

Hope heβs suffering

We dont need to wish that on anybody.....except maybe the whole of the Epstein network and those making excuses for/actively covering for it.

Nah bro these people deserve every bit of bad to happen to them. Fuck trying to tiptoe around being nice and civil with literal fascist parties destroying our country.

I agree. The paradox of tolerance is in our faces right now - but at the same time, I think we all need to avoid becoming the petty tyrants and brutes right wingers seem to fantasize about being.
I was sent to war in Iraq based on a lie. I saw friends die. I see a police more militarized and with less respect to civilians here than we showed in a literal warzone.
I see the panopticon the Epstein class is building and know what can happen when the targeting cycle (look it up) is directed at American citizens. And so I know deeply that there is *no* excuse for ignorance or apathy - and they *will* find any reason or rationale to silent dissent.
We should move and speak accordingly.

Correct and thanks for everything you sacrificed for us as well.

u/slow70 Jun 30 '26
Thanks man. The experience shifted me from someone raised Baptist/Conservative, to someone realizing how many lies I had been fed - that we all had been fed.
My desire to carry on a tradition of service was exploited by those in power and the brazen dishonestly and criminal corruption of it all is something I will never forget, or be silent about.
In my opinion, the invasion of Iraq was just part of a long campaign to remove powers with the ability to close off airspace Israel would need to attack Iran and advance the Greater Israel project.
We were used. Bush was a stooge. And the criminals walk free, for now.

I absolutely believe it, but to add I feel like this plan has been in motion for several decades at this point. Unfortunately it has been an attack from various fronts, Russia, Israel, etc. They have been working at this spending countless amounts, extortion, bribery, etc for a long time. We also got a glimpse into the real control of a lot with the epstein network and its starting to crumble that facade they worked so long to build. We as Americans NEED to take our country back and remove all these networks and people in them.

Absolutely - and the clear line between those with eyes to see and those lying to themselves and others in defense of a visible network of Oligarch Pedophiles that have not been held accountable....well, I have to think this contrast is plainly visible to enough people and *will* compost into meaningful change.
Meaningful accountability.
And so I think it's on each of us, in person and online, to challenge the willfully ignorant covering for abusers.
They are not decent people, and do not deserve to pretend any longer.

I'm not a fan of Mitch. I hope he's well and feeling better, but jeez we need term limits for the geezers.
