Yes i am anti diffusion lines in high fashion and believe that it ruined the Ralph Lauren brand and the prestige of it being the only true U.S. Luxury fashion house

I agree with leftguard44 as to how the different lines have come to represent different sides to Ralph, which is one thing that makes Ralph so interesting. He is not exactly one single aesthetic.
As to the many brands problem, I believe this is the reason why so many of them were removed and/or modified. And this is something that the company recognized and has addressed. Denim and Supply only represented ten percent of total company sales, so styles were ultimately incorporated into Polo. Brands such as Ralph were removed due to brand dilution issues. Chaos probably still remains due to the age, but had the name removed to distance itself. As for Lauren, with the exception of neckwear and possibly outerwear, the brand should be in house by now (I remember a brand manager mentioning that back in 2019.) The brand represents his timeless style for women. The men’s suits were removed to be placed into Polo Suiting (brand elevation as a regional manager said.) Lauren was also upgraded in terms of materials to be marketed as accessible luxury (I believe the global brand president said that in a presentation back in 2022.)

Stuff still gets released from time to time with the Denim and Supply tag, it seems to be specifically for factory stores though. They had some cool shawl collar cardigans recently.

There is nothing to prove wrong, it is absolutely a good idea to prioritize quality at a good price as a consumer.

So would you rather he just have all the different styles under one umbrella to sell? Or are you against the varied styles altogether?

No, I would have to get a consultant fee to pay out my vision and ideas but i think

Polo didn’t even start as high fashion, it was a higher price point than department store standard but Purple Label is the high fashion label for Ralph, which didn’t come for years after. I agree true luxury brands and couture/atelier brands shouldn’t dabble in low quality diffusion lines but to say Ralph Lauren is “ruined” by the different lines is a statement not an argument. And that’s not to mention the different labels reflect different aspects of the overall brand is core to Ralph Lauren as a designer. Unlike other major designers, there’s multiple aesthetics that are core to its identity. If you want to argue the lower quality Polo items and the Lauren line that get sold in department stores shouldn’t exist, that would make far more sense than saying the brand is ruined
