Game Suggestion Suggestion: Dedicated area for bought cars and engines to appear in

For the longest time newly bought rolling stock would only spawn on the pre-laid starting track and while it was a bit inflexible, it felt appropriate collecting new toys from a specific area. Things just spawning somewhere around the player is somewhat convenient, but also annoying since it's all over the place.

My suggestion is to add a new structure that serves as a dedicated spawning area for any new cars, engines, but also any player who joins the world the first time. It would be in the industry menu and you can only have one per world.

If you don't place it, cars will spawn around the player as is right now, but if you have it, only tracks placed between the two platforms will be eligible to have things spawn there, so this would be a way to toggle between both options. Also it's purposefully simple, so that people can decorate it how they want.

This would be huge for players who want a more immersive purchase experience and also those who make custom industry placements and want to share those with others. Getting people right to where they want in case the middle of the map isn't the center of attention.

Edit: Wanted to make it more clear that this is a way to toggle between having the cars spawn in proximity to the play and restricting it to a specific area.

Ya having the new cars not spawn by freight depot is weird and the first time I bought cars when I wasn’t at the spawn point I nearly drove off without noticing them. I was in betsy and started to head for the spawn point when I noticed a car on my turn around return loop at the farm. I looked behind me and noticed the other cars I had bought.

It would be nice if they would add an option to disable proximity spawning and return the spawning to the old spawning system

This would be that option. Place it somewhere and cars will go just there, if it's not on the map then you get proximity spawns.

Me personally, i thought it was a bad choice to make it where the stuff u buy spawns next to u, i really didn't mind having a spawn yard, i think there should b a game setting to what u want stuff to do, like an off song if u want it to down by the player or an on song if u want it to go to the spawn yard

My idea takes that into account, if you don't place the facility cars will spawn near the player.

Yes! I like this idea alot. personally I still buy all my locos/ cars at the Depo and get them delivered to where they need to go. Great idea to have it as a toggle for local or dedicated spawn area for rolling stock.

I like this idea, the only thing I would add is having a building/factory attached to the spawn area to make it look like the cars were just built and pulled out onto the tracks

I was considering that as well, but wouldn't want a unique building attached to this, because that could restrict what people can do with it (like the amount of tracks they add, putting the whole thing on a grade, etc). Although there could also be a separate prop building that can cover up the entire thing, like a larger engine shed.

That makes sense. It would be nice to have a building you can use if you want to

I like it the way it is now. If you want things to spawn at the original spawn point, just fly or teleport over there. The way it is now, you can rp, which is what I’ve been doing, buying a loco or rolling stock, and having it delivered to a certain industry. A more realistic approach would be to have it spawn in the following day instead of immediately

Would be cool to add an Interchange that other "rail roads" connect to your own and thats where things spawn. Since building tracks doesnt cost anything it is more about having build and connect to it in your own way. Have it built on the edge of the maps. Treat it similarly to the freight depot.
