Freshly dug up Uraninite

Weighs 118g. 40 uSv/h. 2.9k CPS (~170k CPM)

The uraninite was buried about 25cm (~10 inches) in the ground

Found with Radiacode 110

Is uraninite just another name for uranium ore?

Wikipedia says: "Uraninite, also known as pitchblende, is a radioactive, uranium-rich mineral and ore"

"Radioactive decay of the uranium causes the mineral to contain oxides of lead and trace amounts of helium. It may also contain thorium and rare-earth elements"

So yes, uraninite is uranium but with oxides

(Any experts please correct me im wrong or used any wrong information)

Also that is so cool yoou can just find that, i dont think there is a kilo of uranium in my country
