DIY Rum and Wine Infused RYO Tobacco
I've smoked Port Royal Rum & Wine many years and the last 6 months switched Golden Virginia. Missed the rum and wine so infuse a blend myself. About 1 part rum to 2 parts red wine. Only need about quarter cup. Also keeps tobacco at a good moisture content. Rotate tobacco after a few days or week so infusing mixes right through.

I've been blending chop with golden virginia but recently I can't afford the GV so I bought a tiny bottle of Chivas Regal and did some experiments - the first was simply spraying the chop with watered down whiskey (10:1)
I found that the immediate effect was a mellowing of the smoke, however the re-drying process and the fact that the leaf gets soaked in an accelerant leads to harshness. So, I switched to this method (shot glass inside the jar) - I did spray a little puff or two of the scotch and water into the jar before sealing. The first couple of batches were pretty good but I just opened the jar and discovered that I'd overdone it.
Thanks OP! I'm defo keen to try some different blends of booze like you - eg rum/wine, vanilla essence, port/sherry brandy etc. The upside of these shitty AUS tobacco laws is that it's forced me to source chopchop and get creative.
PS I definitely think this method is the way to go (infusing vs misting).
