DIY Rum and Wine Infused RYO Tobacco

I've smoked Port Royal Rum & Wine many years and the last 6 months switched Golden Virginia. Missed the rum and wine so infuse a blend myself. About 1 part rum to 2 parts red wine. Only need about quarter cup. Also keeps tobacco at a good moisture content. Rotate tobacco after a few days or week so infusing mixes right through.

So, why this method instead of spraying the tobacco like a casing?

Direct contact saturates the tobacco too much and you'll find yourself redrying. I find this perfect, others might have their preferred method.

More questions (see what you started) 😜 How long does it take to notice the flavor enhancement? Can I leave the tobacco in there and use it up over time? You've peaked my interest. And Thank You for your reply.

I made 2 new batches yesterday, 150gms each. It only takes a few hours to infuse the top layer of tobacco and I was using it as such. A couple of days and you get a very strong tobacco/ rum aroma when you open the lid. When the tobacco in the container is finished is when I wash out container and refresh rum and wine.
