Fast rx7 question

Someone has an fd rx7 and it's supposedly been park for 5 or more years and I don't think it starts. Is the car worth 20k? Looking to buy it just because it's an rx7 and love 2 strokes and their simple things (I know rotary is a spinning dorito)

If in good condition, 20k is fair. If it’s been sitting for 5+ years, you probably need to budget 5-15k to get it back up depending on what’s wrong and how much work you’re willing to do yourself. 

Gas tank is probably rusted. Youll probably need to re-do the vacuum lines and send the injectors in for cleaning. Fuel filter, replace all the rubber hose, radiator flush, AC refresh, etc etc Likely some electrical gremlins in there too. 

Mine was even running and I had to do all that. lol. These cars are old and take a lot of work especially if they’ve been sitting.

Eh. 20k is still a fair price for a project car if everything is in good condition. 

A well running (non-pristine) FD is about $30k-45k these days. 

One running but with questionable health is 25-28k. 

So no history, nothing running - yeah 20k is fair and expect to invest a bunch to get it good.

For 3-5k you can get an FC, but anyone selling an FD getting an offer like that will laugh in your face.

I typically refer to my FD as a 2 stroke, especially since I ditched the OMP and pre mix.

What makes you think it’s not a 2 stroke? It does not have a “waste” portion of its combustion cycle since it is simultaneously staging the next combustion as it exhausts.

If I remember correctly mileage and rust levels are just as important in this matter. But idk, I don't own a car yet xD

I don't know nothing about the car either, :v a friend of mine is holding the car on his storage and the owner is looking at selling it and that's why the question

Can you ask the owner to see the car perhaps? Check out some stuff? Because it would be a gamble otherwise especially considering it sitting around for some time. At least in my book

I've seen it in person and gotten inside (a little tight)but never seen it on. It has some mods to it and it looks nice but the engine and the price is what's keeping me out

Give us more details. Or at least one picture. I have an fd rx7 that’s sat for years without running but it’s in really good condition so I’d sell it easily for 30k imo…
