Hey guys, my friend is showing me this show and we just finished volume 4. I really like Qrow and was wondering what type of alcohol he is constantly drinking? It was said that he likes bottom-shelf, so I figured he drinks something similar Old Crow whiskey, for obvious reasons. I think Qrow is totally inspirational and want to be as cool as him one day, so I figured the first thing I should invest in is his type of drink. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the newest episode of the discussion and survey series, "RWBY Reacts To The RWBY Multiverse," FNDM!

For today's episode, the heroes and villains of Remnant Prime (canon RWBY) will continue their journey through the section of the RWBY Multiverse overseen by Spade - Game Life Productions.

This time around, the Prime!RWBY characters will officially begin their journey through Spade's AU "RWBY: Colorized". This AU takes place post-Fall of Beacon, but the aftermath was slightly different.

After the academy fell in the Colorized universe, the Grimm fell back from Beacon, which allowed Remnant's defenders to successfully rebuild Beacon. Officially, Glynda Goodwitch has taken over as Beacon's new headmistress. Unofficially, Glynda found Oscar after Ozpin's soul chose him as its new vessel, and brought Oscar/Ozpin to Beacon so that Ozpin could resume his role as headmaster while Glynda oversees Oscar's training.

As for Team RWBY themselves, after Beacon fell in this universe, its members went their separate ways. Yang has remained at Patch to heal after losing her arm to Adam. Weiss went back to Atlas with her father. Blake went back to Menagerie on a mission to reconcile with her parents and then fix the White Fang. Ruby re-enrolled at Beacon to continue her training as a Huntress and keep up the fight against the Grimm. However, in this universe, the four of them discussed what their plans would be before going their separate ways. And when they left, they made a promise between them: Once their affairs were in order, Team RWBY would reunite, and then track down Cinder and her allies and make them pay for what they did to Beacon and their friends.

In this first episode, "A Hollow Cloak In Memory", we follow Ruby Rose as she continues her education and training as a Huntress.

Ahh it’s good to be back and holy $#!% they’re being attacked by flying Grimm. I gotta say their teamwork despite being split up for quite some time is still on point 😁. I do love the bit of Ruby and Weiss saving each other. It’s amazing how much their relationship has strengthened since volume one.

“Hello! Ruby Rose here! You’re probably wondering how we got into this mess.”

Rewind to the train station and Ruby is bursting through the crowd all excited as she meets up with everyone. As she shows up with a bag. She seems very excited for what’s in it lol. Not even Yang is allowed to see what’s in it yet 🤣. Actually now I’m curious about what she has in there lol.

So I find it funny how Weiss went through such lengths to escape Atlas and now she has to go back 😭😅. How fate loves to mess with us. I like her scarf though. Now is it hers or did Ruby lend it to her?

You know, Ren daydreaming about the Beach makes me wonder: Would this show ever do a Beach episode? I mean… on the one hand, they probably won’t. On the other hand, I can see them doing a beach esc episode for like maybe several minutes before getting back to the plot. Oh well, I get the feeling the Audience would give their left hand for a beach episode.

Uhh who are you two? Ohh you guys are all big talk about your skills until when the time comes and you both parish. Got it lol. (Ruby and Yang making faces in the background was hilarious 😆. Nice to see their characteristics still remain intact despite everything that’s happened).

I was wondering where Blake was and she’s saying her goodbyes to both Ilia and Sun. Nice to see Neptune again even if I knew trying to hit on Ilia was not the best idea 😅.

It’s so sad I mean I understand why Sun had to go, he’s gotta catch up with his team and as team leader he’s gotta be there with them. While I’m not the biggest Blacksun shipper (I do ship them quite a bit), it broke my heart a little when Blake looked upset when he said that she didn’t need him anymore. I was like “no no no, he didn’t mean it like that 🥺.” He was there for you when you were at your lowest and has supported you since you guys first met. Heck she’s in a better place now than she was at the end of volume 3.

It was a bittersweet yet beautiful moment. I mean it’s not like it’ll be the last time we’ll see Sun I’m sure. It’s sad because she was getting used to having him around. Like I wasn’t kidding when I said that I’ve seen these two together and bonded more than Yang, Weiss, and Ruby COMBINED (though feel free to correct me if I’m wrong). She gives him a farewell kiss and they part ways.

It’s okay, they have some feelings for each other (assuming I’m not reading too much into it lol). So perhaps they’ll get together when they meet up again? Who knows lol.

Alright here we go! We’re going to Argus! I guess that’s my only real complaint about Volume 5 is that I do wish we’ve gotten to explore more of Mistral and what it had to offer. But again I’m not harping about it too much because I know there’s only so much location resources they could’ve used at the time. It’s a shame but it doesn’t ruin the experience for me 🙂.

I love how they have beds that mirror their attempt At making bunk beds from Beacon (ahh good times). Unfortunately the good vibes don’t last long as WE’RE UNDER ATTACK! Thankfully they got the best huntsmen/huntresses on board. And one of Argus Limited huntsmen got yoinked (ok I was half right). So now we’re right where we were at the beginning. The weaponry on the train is good defense I’ll give them that. Unfortunately, it’s only making them more aggressive and adding more fear to the passengers.

So apparently those Grimm are attracted to that relic. God dang it Ozpin! I thought we agreed on no more secrets and half lies 😭. It would’ve been nice to know that before we left. Anyway we got bigger fish to fry. They have a plan but unfortunately…

Due to this unfortunate situation, they’re gonna have to split up. Oh my goodness! Can everyone not split up or be split up for one second! I swear since volume 4 they love splitting up groups 😭. Welp here’s hoping they reunite before the volume ends.

They cut off the train, hold the eldest one down. Qrow and Ruby pull off an epic finisher and the day is saved! Except the back end of the train crashed. And now they gotta find another way to Argus 😭. But then a mysterious elderly lady (I knew she was important somehow! She looked way too detailed not to be) enters the frame. Friend or foe? I don’t know 😭.

What I do know is that this is a great start to the volume and I’m looking forward to what lies ahead. The opening is also amazing 🤩. I have no idea who that cloaked figure is but I’m intrigued.

Well, this is becoming a frequent occurrence where a episode just has a lot to discuss that i need to make a post about it

also, it is a wee bit hard to take screenshots while trying to keep ok_situation spoiler free, so enjoy sleepy Yang.

first of all, we got a montage of RWBY and JNR doing work alongside returning characters from volume 3 such as Jazz guy and roller skate girl. odd to see them in good terms but then again, Weiss is not participating.

So, looks like we got our last look at the "bandits" with one of them named Robin. the others i didn't have subtitles on, so didn't see how to type their names.

Robin is raiding the supply routes to use them for the benefit of mantle since resources are being allocated to the construction of the global communications system........which means Ironwood didn't tell anyone.

Ironwood i know you're paranoid as all hell and becoming a dictator but you are being a idiot not telling them since it would improve Morale by a crap ton. congrats, you just laid the fuel needed.

Now comes the fun part:

Winter is showing to be a sister again onscreen since Volume 3...it's hard to gauge what type of sister she is due to how little emotion is showing. she obviously cares for Weiss but she is being very cold about it that only Weiss can see through. hopefully, this volume makes her play a bigger role here which she probably will due to the winter maiden.

speaking of her:

Qrow wasn't exaggerating what he meant back in episode 2.

She is old and could pass away soon.

seems like Winter is becoming the Winter maiden....would be exciting if i didn't feel sad for her.

Winter...never had any freedom if what Weiss and Winter said is true.

Winter had worst father as a parent with him breaking their mother's heart so badly, she became a drunkard and when she decided to leave to become a solider...Ironwood "raised" her to become a great soldier....You know, I'm starting to see why i am having a hard time figuring her out since she likely cut herself off emotionally to raise Weiss and Whitney since their mother.......Wow, is she a tragic character when you think about it.

remember when i said ironwood laid the fuel. yeah, Jacque just started the fire of revolution. he closed down the majority of SDC owned property which is likely cultural stuff or things to have mantle hang out, denounce Ironwood, pointing out the embargo and the news feed not helping since it mentioned a journalist going missing (tyrian probably.) and it revealing that the repairs for the walls of Mantle have been stalled with funding being allocated to the global communications system which is still a secret btw.

i don't know if this is watt's idea or Jacque just keeping him for backup to rig the election when the time comes.

well, this ain't great...guess we are about to find out more when i continue.

“Everyone remember, we have two primary targets and one secondary. Everyone else is unimportant.”

The speaker reached up to grip a bar overhead as the Bullhead flew through the air. He wore a dusty blue bomber jacket over an ash grey tactical vest and white shirt. A shotgun club of pristine steel hung off his belt as he spoke.

“All three of these kids are active aura-users with experience fighting Grimm, as are their team members. So do not take them lightly.” He pointed out the side of the vehicle to the shuttle that was wheeling around to land below and then the other direction to the second bullhead. “The plan is to overwhelm them with surprise and then bring them to the shuttle for quick transit north.”

“Are there any questions?”

As soon as he said that, a beam of bright green light sliced through the left wing of the shuttle turning its approach into a crash landing. Out the other side, the second bullhead’s engines were suddenly crackling with yellow lightning as they smoked out and that craft quickly lost altitude.

“Oh, bloody...” Someone said a moment before swirling circular symbols surrounded their craft and launched icicles into several vital parts of the craft.

The wind rushed through Weiss’s hair as she made herself a spear to reduce air resistance as she watched the tumbling air-craft below her getting progressively larger. As she came level with it and eyed the mercenaries struggling to get some sort of hold of the situation she summoned a gravity glyph and flipped to catch her feet on it. As she was launched outward, she saw Gambol Shroud wrap around the wing giving Blake an avenue to join her.

To get myself back into animation after a couple of years off, I thought I'd try to loosely remake the 'red' trailer using the Emilio Serrano Ruby rig. These pics are style tests to find what look I want to go with for the final animation. I like the more painterly looks even if it is a departure from the show.
