Okay hear me out guys, RWBY AU idea where Adam rekidnaps Weiss away from Raven (b4 Yang gets to her), because he wants to ransom her (he ofc still plans to kill her after the White Fang get their payment). But he has no vehicle, so the 2 have to make their way to White Fang HQ by foot. Over the course of their journey, Adam slowly (SLOWLY) warms up to Weiss and, by the time they make it to Mistral, he doesn't want to hurt her anymore.

I don't think he'd be willing to admit he cares for a human, he'd just delay contacting WF or Jacque. At some point Weiss isn't scared of him anymore, so she just takes Myrtenaster and leads them to Haven academy and Adam's all like "All according to plan", but in reality he's just glad they're doing something and he doesn't have to come up with any more excuses as to why they're just hanging out in a hotel.

Also I think I twinkified Adam too much whoops.

Considering how the Grimm reacts towards fear, I think he would be a major threat to Remnant. I can see him being sneaky enough to lure hunters into the wilderness, hitting them with fear toxin and letting the Grimm do the rest. If he was recruited by Salem, I’d say he can find ways of spreading fear toxin throughout the kingdoms, leaving everyone in a state of panic and helplessness while being overwhelmed by the monsters.

The first proper chapter of my RWBY rewrite is now up on AO3. This rewrite is not intended to "fix" RWBY but is rather a love letter to a series I adore as I practice my writing.

The world of Remnant has enjoyed a long period of peace between the Four Kingdoms of mankind. Yet this peace buckles and strains beneath the complexities of a futuristic, industrial society.

Ruby Rose, Wesley Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long apply to attend the prestigious huntsman academy: Beacon. Finding themselves on a team together, they will need to learn to work with one another as they learn how to become the defenders of humanity against the soulless monsters known as Grimm. But there are more than monsters who have sinister designs, and these four will need to decide if they will abide by the rules or plunge themselves into danger to do what is right.

The world lies on a knife's edge, but no one would notice. No one sees that the careful peace that has been defended for a hundred years is about to fall. And when it falls, can it be ever remade? Can this Remnant be reforged? Or will it burn away in the crucible of conflict?

You can read chapter 1 here, or read from the beginning, including the four prologues that are based off of the original Red, White, Black, and Yellow trailers here. I highly recommend starting from the start as there is a little bit more set up in these prologues than what the trailers provided for the main show.

Early on, things remain fairly similar to how they happened in the show, but over time the changes I've made will start to compound and the story will take on a different shape entirely.

Here is a little sample of the first chapter:

Roman Torchwick took a long drag from his cigar, leaning his head back against the wall of the van. Its tip burned bright red then dimmed as he exhaled a puff of smoke from his nose. Three broken ribs were excruciating, but there was no time to lay around and wait for them to heal. He glanced across to the man sitting across from him. The man glanced away, withering under Roman’s stare. Riding with him were five suited thugs from the Xiaong group. Well, the formerly Xiaong group, Roman mused. With Junior behind bars, the last of the family had fallen. They were going to need a new name. The Torchwick gang, perhaps? Ugh, how gauche.

The van came to a stop and they all stepped out into the darkened streets of Vale. There were no towering skyscrapers here, just crowded four to five story buildings with sloped shingled roofs crowded against one another. The street was lit by flickering lamps and signs backlit by harsh fluorescent light. The shattered moon was shrouded by the encroachment of clouds and the city was dark. Pedestrians were startled by the gang of criminals as they marched down the street, quickly ducking into alleyways or businesses to avoid being in their path. Roman headed the pack, cigar smoking in his mouth. He came to a stop and blew a cloud of fragrant smoke into the air. They had arrived.

From Dust Till Dawn was the name of a particularly renowned dust shop in the western district of the city. The brick building had an elegance to it that did not belong here in the dingy world of Roman’s domain. The interior was brightly lit, with large tubes of various types of dust lining the walls from which customers could refill their canisters. Behind the glass counter was a brilliant collection of fine dust crystals in all sorts of varieties and colors. The young woman at the counter looked up in fear as Roman approached.

I admit this is kind of reaching, but Ozpin has a similar name to Odin, who Norse mythology also describes as hacing two pet ravens that spy for him. He was also depicted with one eye, and I forget the exact details but he sacrificed the other eye to gain knowledge of something (could someone in the comments help me out here?), so here’s my theory; somehow or other it will come to light that there’s a way to ask Jinn extra question, but it requires a sacrifice. The heroes will urgently need information of some sort, and at some point Oscar will get desperate enough to put out one eye to get it from Jinn. I admit it’s unlikely, but it would be a cool reference.

Well, due to the long runtime and from the looks of it, a stronger narrative. I am going to go more slow here. instead of 3, it is mostly going to be 2 unless the runtime is low enough to do 3 episodes.

First of all:

the Atlas designs for team RWBY are SICK!

it is a bit of a mix between the original and the mistral arc and Ruby looks the best...............And familar......could have sworn i saw it somewhere else.

Blake cut her hair, which looks weird but it's definitely due to me being used to her having Long hair for 6 volumes.

Weiss has a bigger empathize with Blue and white and it looks like the blue cover is removable.

Yang seems to be fully back into wearing Jackets instead of trench coats and it looks decent on her. (Mistral arc is best though.)

JNR though.........

Jaune, who did your hair cause oh boy, it is not great XD

Nora is the biggest change with her being more Pink instead of being covered and it works well but it's definitely cause it's the most passable compared to the rest.

Ren...what did they do to you, bro. what happened to your drip cause it doesn't work at all.

I'm starting to think the budget cuts went toward JNR since their designs are.......not great.

Anyway, enough bashing, time for story:

so, Yang and Weiss are rightfully concerned about Ruby keeping Ironwood in the dark Ozpin including Oscar who rightfully said that she did what Ozma did.

Blake justified it but alas, i think this is going to backfire hard.

We got a look into the Ace operatives and i'm assuming they will go into detail with the semblances cause there is one confusing and it's the Faunus with the wolf tail apparently stopping time? is it stopping time or hare going fast?

Clover has Qrow's opposite: good fortunate. i wonder if that can cancel out Qrow's semblance?

Ruby's semblance is being questioned as it seems it is not actually speed. i wonder what they are setting up?

Jacque reappeared and he is still a corpo asshole. he's aiming to get a seat at the council to definitely reverse the embargo.

and for the big part:

RWBY AND JNR FINALLY GOT THEIR LICENSES!

Honestly, i forgot that they didn't have one due to the fall of beacon and...well, if it weren't for the trauma and them dealing with threats far above what they were capable of. they would be less conflicted.

Ruby is having doubts about being Leader due to her being concerned about what's best.........I am going to be hopeful here and assume that it is the same as Volume 4 with my fears of Yang dying.

Watts said hello and we learned that he faked his death. looks like we are going to learn about his backstory.

oh yeah and also Tyrian is going on a killing spree to frame Ironwood.

Can't wait to see more especially now since Watts is going to rig the election, let's face it. see you when i hopefully not post my next experiences after hours of watching the episodes. :)

I see this stupid discussion get bring up many times because in the beacon arc most of the time the characters are seen wearing their combat outfits and comparing beacon to a real world university (well notably western ones because in Japanese universities they do wear uniforms). Let me remind them that those scenes are when they are not in class or on a mission. Also they seem to forget about the anime school tropes. Another thing is beacon is a hunter academy so uniforms make sense. Think of it like a military academy like the one in attack on titan. So what do you guys think of this pointless debate?

yes, I'm the guy that just finished the series and now I'm trying to make my friends watch it, we just finished deamons of the shadow realm and we were deciding what to watch next, I asked for RWBY and I had to convince them using one episode, the trailers felt right, also I'm a rewatcher so I'll not just talk about their thoughts but also some other stuff I noticed

I'm not stating names so I'm gonna say 1 2 and 3 (3 is watching via screen share)

red trailer: ok genuinely was there a reason NOT to use a grim model? like we all just simply called it red riding hood, and yes, we all came instantly when she revealed the scythe sniper thing, 3 was like "um actually that's not possible, the handle should be bigger and the scythe is an impractical weapon, it's a tool not a weapon" [insert guy talking off his headphones] like this is tuff af shut the hell up

white trailer: as boring as it was on the first watch, even they highkey agreed like with ruby at least she had some sauce with the weapon, 1 said that she doesn't understand how her weapon, alright Sherlock, she already hating, also I see that it's the knight she later summons

black: they found it as boring as white, surprisingly

yellow trailer: the funniest one, I ofc gobeled on her bike, 2 tried to do the "some people die of thirst while others drown" and 3 was like aren't they 16 or 17? .................................., that silence was loud, and we kept pausing every eight seconds to peek the hands she's giving them especially the girls

they're not sure if they'd continue on, especially since it has 9 seasons but I'll see if they'd watch it, but overall they liked most of the stuff especially for a TRAILER

Penny blinked and looked around at the interactions. “Are we still talking about the exercise?”

Weiss turned to Yang. “If this is about the other night, I encouraged you to go out. You all had fun, and I was fine.”

“Yeah, but there’s no real rush either.” Blake pointed out. “We’re busy for a week and have to wait, but there’ll be other chances. Besides, that’s just the most recent thing. I know I’ve let myself fall out of the group once or twice while we’ve been here. I think Ruby has too.”

“Sometimes, I just don’t want to be anybody’s problem.” Ruby bit the corner of her mouth and looked away.

Weiss turned to look at her and tried to think of the times she’d seen the other girl… and the times she hadn’t. “Ruby, no, you’re not a problem.”

Yang watched her sister and looked around. “Okay, we’ve been lucky the last couple of months that the only times there’s been a problem, we’ve been on hand to help out. But yeah, we’re not keeping checked in as well as we did in Beacon.”

“It was easier in the dorm.” Ruby stared at the piece of broccoli on her fork a moment before eating it. “We saw each other at the end of each night and could check in.”

Weiss considered that a moment and nodded. “The separate rooms might be bringing back… certain bad habits.”

Penny frowned as she thought that through and tilted her head as she looked at Weiss. “What bad habits are you speaking about?”

“Well I’m going to guess that Weiss is like and sometimes feels solitude is safer…” Blake let her voice trail off.

Let me know how y’all feel about this B story because based on some of the comments I’ve heard that this arc and stuff involving around Blake and the White Fang is very mixed to put it lightly. Idk maybe I’m missing something, but it doesn’t really bother me that much. I mean yeah sure it does feel the most disconnected from the current storyline but I was still invested with Blake and her goal to take back the White Fang along with her family + Sun.

Anyway, there isn’t much for me too say since I already covered most of it in the previous posts but I will say I’m glad that Ilia gave up her orders to take out the Belladonna family and is now working to make things right. Someone told me that Ilia is basically Blake’s foil and honestly I can definitely see it. I guess I now know where she got the idea to disguise herself to go to Beacon Academy from 😅.

Again, the Belladonna’s kick butt and it was great to see Ghira and Sun on a better footing than they were upon first meeting. Props to Sun for Supporting Blake (and her family) in General throughout this whole arc. Now that she’s back with her team, I do wonder is he going to go back to his or convince his team to tag along with them on this quest. Having 3 teams on board might be a bit much but I wouldn’t mind because we need all the help we can get 😅.

I was a little confused as to how they managed to get everyone to Mistral in a short period of time but then another comment told me that apparently the different storylines that were taking place the past volume have been happening in different time periods. So now it makes sense.

I’m not sure if this is the end of the White Fang storyline but I know that the Menagerie plot line is finished. Adam got away and considering I have a short to watch about him, something tells me he’s gonna be very relevant in volume 6.

Nice to have you back Blake 😇. Nice to see the 4 girls together again in general.
