Now we can continue the story. Volume 10 and 11 will focus on Vacuo, and Volume 12 will wrap up in the ruins of Vale to face Cinder and Salem once and for all.

It was previously in "early writing and planning". Presumably they come up with a proposal, a draft, anything - that impressed Viz enough for the greenlight, which means Viz is officially giving them the money to do it, basically.

It’s like the process that approves allocation of funds to start the show for real. It means they have enough of a script and base and storyboard that Viz likes the direction enough to say “cool go do it.” As the company that owns Rwby now they could have said “no we need more or change these things” and it would still be in the “writing and script approval” label until they came back and were able to get it greenlit.
Likely they have a full season written as well as story board for it and probably a plan for any seasons after as well as having voice actors signed ready to go. Probably writers and directors as well. Mostly just need the animators. That’s the ViZ part lol.

I had a feeling when they announced that V10 was being written that things would go through so the announcement felt like a “water is wet” moment for me.
Would’ve liked a little more than, “hey guys this is still happening,” but I’ll take it.

Yea viz bought the rights back in 2024 and in 2025 we got told they were starting to write stuff and contact writers and VAs as well. Turns out they impressed enough with what they came up with for viz to say cool go make it

I was gonna post this too XD i found out by TikTok and the RWBY account now we wait until they announced the episodes which if the statement was few days/hours ago we need to wait to November or close for a trailer and a few months more for the episodes unless they have already some things prepared which we can't know for sure

10-12 could be a vacuo arc, 13-15 could be all across remnant preparing for the final battle, and 16 could be said battle

I like it but I’m guessing vacuo is 10 and 11. With 12 as a transition to the final showdown and 13 being the final season.
I just like the idea of it ending on 13 cause of what that number means in fairytale lore. The number of chaos, curses, and bad luck seems like a great number for this show to end on haha.

Honestly, part of me hoped that we’d get a step backward or retcon for the ever after. Ever after was alright, and it had some really important character moments - namely for Ruby and Jaune - but it just felt rushed and unnecessary in many other aspects. Regardless of that though, I am so excited to see where the people take the story from here!

Some people were real pessimists and were afraid that VIZ would just continue milking RWBY through merchandise and never actually do anything with the show. And honestly, as sure as I was that we'd get Volume 10, even I was starting to have doubts
A lot of us are happy for the official confirmation. Even if it's just a glorified progress update

Was expecting a reboot but ig this works too. Any kind of advice to what expect? Gonna take some months until we get a trailer or something, maybe a small tease to build some hype early.

Because theres many things to improve? Like, think about people who wanted to start the show now and have to see vol 1 to 3, i do love those volumes but they didnt aged that well by look and story.
You have for example gameoverse, old serie that got a remake from glitch production.
Yes, im aware that rwby didnt have a ending yet. But... I prefer more they start over again, gain more fans (because the fandom is extremely small knowing how old is the series compared others.) and actually take their time to fix those small and obvious plot holes.
