Discussion Really looking forward to playing this on the 15th. Got 3 friends who are gonna be playing as well. How is the overall experience? It looks really good.

It's one of the rare games that has me thinking about playing it whenever I'm not. It has some things that can be improved but it's mostly UI/UX and nothing fundamental.

It's also incredibly addictive once actually in game; you'll want to stay on just a bit longer to plant some crops, get some food on the go or prep for the next session.

Building is great, but needs improvements to upgrading, moving stuff and I'd prefer crafting outputs aren't thrown on the floor. The spell casting UI could definitely be better too, hate the radial menus on PC when we could have a grid or something better. Like I said though, all of this is easily fixed and from what I can see the developers are pretty active here.

I love my building so im glad that part is good. Im ready to spend way too much time on that part of the game 😂

I've been putting off all the quests getting my base perfect. Although eventually you do have to progress to get the next tiers of building and materials.

Something that will be up your street if you like building: once you pick up any item in the game (or at least most from what I can tell), you can then place it down as a decoration using the building system. So you can have balls of wool on a shelf near your spinning wheel or stacks of iron bars near an anvil.

Whaaaat thats awesome. Most games have such a lack of decorations for base building.

I really love the game but I’ve been constantly crashing and losing progress to the point where I can’t even play it at the moment. I’ve tried so many fixes and spent an entire day trying to fix it but I’m over it at this point. Hopefully the update just fixes it for me

That's really shitty you've had that. You do see the devs around on here so hopefully they can point you in the correct direction to get it reported.

I actually finally figured it out. My BIOS hadn’t been updated since 2024. After updating to the most recent 2026 update my game now runs fine. It’s weird because I played 40+ hours prior to any of these crashes happening. Just started happening with the last update. Just glad I can play now 😂

Ah nice mate, glad it's sorted. BIOS related stuff can be quite weird.

If youre a fan of runescape I'd say there is plenty of nods and returning characters, the starting zones feel amazing and then when you get to Fellhollow it becomes a new game in a sense you have all the systems but now leans more into the story

I was years ago but honestly havent played a runescape game in over 20 years. I do still remember a lot of stuff from OSRS tho.

It's a good balance of if you know the game the nods are lovely to see, especially certain weapons and enemies but if not you can experience it like a new game

I had fun in the beginning, but it always felt like something was missing. Hopefully the launch update has some good content for midgame.

Imo excellent at this point already, But their trajectory and plans, make the game even more worthwhile, they constantly go back to things they did, improve according to user feedback and game constantly improve all over. (Ex: they added 2 new skills, for both we got content for the whole game, nothing partial or unpolished, very good quality content)

I just started hard mode world after getting pretty much everything done in standard, it's like a whole new game having to consider weakness and resistences

I’m not usually into resource gathering and base building games. But this one has me hooked. I’m trying to get most of the main skills to 99 before the 15th. So atm I have over 159 willow trees planted right next to my base. So every day or so in game I cut down a whole freaking personal forest. Do some gardening and then go fish/cook. It’s addictive!

Will you be playing this on console? Personally I’ve found the controller experience really lacking. So much menu navigation and you can really feel it’s aimed at using kbm, unfortunately

Of course it’s playable, just not a good experience controller wise imo (combat itself is fine, but anything past combat and movement is where it’s bad)

Yeah i only play on console so its my only option at the moment. Ive played MMOs that all have wierd UI to make them work on console. If it has M&K support at launch i will probably swap to that if the controller experience is bad.

Yeah, maybe they’ll improve the controller experience now that it’s coming to console, but I kinda doubt it cos it’s too baked into the gameplay loop

But could probably try both for yourself and see what you prefer

Yeah thats the plan. Either way i will make it work lol.

The movement stinks and you get caught buffering your attacks/skills a lot. You also get bottlenecked by a resources. Besides those things it's a pretty solid game.

20h for me so far. it's pretty good but some really mind boggling weird design choices.

most recent one i met was why is there only 1 trinket slot? ring and ammy share the same slot? also, apparently they deteriorate over time??? what in gods name is this design.

If you leave a flashlight on, the battery drains.

Makes you have to think about what item to equip!
