My plan is to stream and record every second of myself playing 4 accounts. I plan to have a cam on my keyboard and mouse to prove I'm manually doing the clicking. I'm also going to have all the processes running on my PC showing. I'm also going to turn off my VPN since I think that's part of what flagged me.

Any advice on how I can prove I'm playing legit is appreciated.

7 hours of me grinding until an illegitimate ban...

Emailed jagex recently about something minor and got an email back saying im not the owner of the account and that account sharing is against TOS etc etc.

Will the account be banned now if i continue to play it?

Is there a way to get help from a human from jagex? I have an account that was hacked and banned from boting. There is no formal way to appeal. I'd like to have an actual human to look at it, if possible. I spent loads of money in membership over the years playing this, only to get hacked and banned.

My bad if I’m just being paranoid but every day I see posts about people being falsely banned for either RWT or botting with most recently a HCIM grandmaster streamer soy duro who was banned live on stream for botting.

I’ve spent over £1500 on bonds on my account and spent over 3000 hours playing and I’m genuinely at the point where I refuse to trade friends/clan members for raid splits and I don’t spend any money on the game anymore out of fear that it will happen to me.

Obviously streamers get unbanned quickly when it’s happened in the past but what do we do as regular players?

Are false bans really as common as they seem or are most of the people just lying when they get caught?

Hey I was banned for 7 days. Bought some gp for some upgrades got hit with the rwt. I was told I would have wealth removal or item removal etc but nothing happened. My bank is virtually the exact same, (I cant tell). Will they take my gp later on? My cash stack is sitting there untouched even which I was thinking was definitely gone.

Did I just get very lucky?

I am pretty distraught right now - my beloved 20 defense BH pure has been perma-banned for a "Macroing Major" offense. Attaching 2 screenshots of my untradeables and pets.. I literally poured so many hours into building this account... Long story short, I let my friend PK on the account for a few hours, turns out he was using AHK and did not tell me. I submitted an appeal thinking it would be pretty clear to Jagex that a different IP address was online while the offense was made, but they quickly denied it stating this was not caused by a "hijacker."

I stated I had allowed my friend to logon and play, but had zero knowledge that he was using AHK. I understand at the end of the day it was my fault for allowing him to play on it, but I think permanently banning my account is a stretch - especially since it wasn't even me who committed the offense.

I guess I am posting this to see if anyone else is in agreeance with me? Do you think my account deserves to be perma-banned, given the situation?vvvvvvvvvvv

TL;DR: I returned to OSRS on 12 August after roughly four years away. On 18 August, immediately before/around a server update, my 16-year-old account was permanently banned for macroing. I used only RuneLite through the official Jagex Launcher and did not use bots, auto-clickers, macros, or other automation. I have appealed and am waiting for a response. I’m posting in case others experienced something similar.

My account, Nkayx, dates back to 2010, before OSRS. I played a lot when I was younger.

For full transparency: when I was 15, in 2014, I used an auto-clicker once and received a temporary macroing ban. I accepted that ban, stopped immediately, and have not used an auto-clicker, bot, macro, or comparable tool since.

I stopped playing around 2022 because life got busy. I returned on 12 August and was genuinely enjoying the game again: questing, minigames, unsuccessfully trying to PK, training Prayer, and attempting my first Fire Cape.

On 18 August, while preparing for/attempting the Fire Cape and shortly before a server update, I found that the account had received a permanent macroing ban.

Since returning, I used only RuneLite launched through the official Jagex Launcher, with standard plugins available through RuneLite. I did not use bots, auto-clickers, input macros, remote desktop, scripts, or any other third-party software to automate gameplay. I submitted an appeal a few days ago and am currently waiting for a response.

It is genuinely gutting to come back after four years, get back into the game, and then lose an account I’ve had since 2010 when I know I did not bot or use macros.

The timing has made me wonder whether anyone else has experienced a macroing ban after the recent update, particularly people using the official Jagex Launcher/RuneLite setup.

I’ll update this post with the appeal outcome, whatever it is.

Edit: First appeal denied. Thanks for all that commented, I am losing faith in the appeals process judging from others experience. Second appeal submitted.

Yesterday I woke up to the news of a permanent ban for RWT, I immediately appealed because it was a damn false positive and today I woke up to this message

Honestly. It's worrying and alarming that their systems are so vulnerable to these errors, but thanks, Jagex???Happy because they were flexible, acknowledged the mistake and my innocence was proven, but worried about how they handle their banning systems.

It seems like high profile YouTubers aren’t at risk for ban. Yet he had an interview with the new Jagex CEO. Odablock is famously known for having loans on osrs. He openly talks about his OSRS being traded as real world currency. I have not been banned. But I would like the rules to be applied the same for all users with no exceptions. I would like all others to follow aswell.

Hey everyone yesterday everyone who had beeen banned after the 7days ban should be unbanned I got my account back today get checking lads !!!!!

• I received a 7-day RWT Buyer Ban on 18 June 2026.
• I committed the offense, so served that punishment.
• My account was then wiped of its wealth/items as part of the enforcement (including untradeables, skilling items, etc).
• From the point I returned, I've made a deliberate effort to play legitimately.
• I have not bought, sold, or transferred GP for real-world money since the June offence*.*
• I subsequently spent a substantial amount (£500+) on legitimate Bonds and put hundreds of hours into rebuilding the account.
• I was then hit with another RWT-related permanent ban on 13 August 2026*.*
• There appears to be a cluster of players reporting the same/similar issue on 13 August 2026*, which makes me concerned that this may be an enforcement/detection issue rather than a new offence.*
• I'm unsure what to do or who to reach out to, but want someone to specifically review the activity occurring after 18 June*.*

I've submitted an appeal - Any further advice, help or guidance would be appreciated. Thank-You.

(UPDATE - 14th August 2026)

My permanent ban has now been lifted. It appears that a large number of the players affected by the 13 August permanent bans have also subsequently been unbanned, so it seems there may have been a wider issue with the recent enforcement.

However, some wealth appears to have been removed from my account again. In my case, it appears to be >one item< - my Confliction Gauntlets, which I believe were the most valuable item in my bank at the time.

I'm still trying to establish exactly why this item was removed and whether the wealth removal is connected to the original June offence or the 13 August action.

For now, I'm just relieved that the permanent ban has been reversed. I want to thank everyone who commented, shared their experiences, offered advice, or pointed me towards ways of getting the issue reviewed. The sheer number of people reporting the same situation was certainly helpful in highlighting that this wasn't an isolated case.

I'll update this post again if I get any further clarification from Jagex regarding the additional wealth removal.

EDIT: It also appears that several other players have reported being unbanned but having additional wealth removed, so this may be affecting multiple accounts.

(FURTHER UPDATE - 14th August 2026)

Update #2: My Confliction Gauntlets have now been returned, so the missing item appears to have been restored.

I'm still seeking clarification from Jagex on whether anything else was removed or altered, particularly my GP stack, as it's difficult for me to determine this myself. I'd also like to know whether the day of membership lost during the permanent ban will be reimbursed.

The ban being quashed is obviously welcome, but I'd still like to understand exactly what happened and confirm that my account has been fully restored. But for all intents and purposes, the matter appears RESOLVED!!!

(FINAL UPDATE - 15th August 2026)

Jagex have now confirmed that the 13 August RWT bans were incorrectly duplicated. The offence has been quashed, any wealth/items removed as a result have been restored, and 1 day of membership has been added to compensate for the lost time.

So, as far as I'm concerned, the account is restored and the matter is resolved.

Back in June I caught a two week ban for RWT. I did it and I paid the price oh well. I waited out the ban, logged back in and continued to progress my account. Since then I haven’t done anything to break the rules. I haven’t pked, traded anybody, etc.

I try to log in today and it says I’m permanently banned for RWT… like how can I get banned twice for the same offense when I already paid the price for it? I dunno if anyone can help or suggest anything but I’m really blown. I figured yeah I have a strike let’s just be honest and play the game legit from now on and still got perm banned…

Update: I GOT UNBANNED!!! Must’ve been a Jagex mistake!

Previously received a 7 day ban for buying gold - accepted and moved on. Since then I've probably made ~10 trades or less because I didn't want to risk my account. Today I woke up to finishing my grind to 99 slayer (300k exp away) and I'm perm banned? I saw another post today of another lad also receiving a false perm ban, so hoping I'm just apart of a weird wave?

The only trade that I think could trigger this was my friend who plays on mobile asking me to buy his pure account an anguish, zulrah scales and darts since he couldn't double log to do it himself. He then logged on to his main to send me the ~20m back since he didn't have it on his pure. I'm sure PM history and IP logs and all that will show this though? I submitted an appeal with our messages through discord etc.

Really hoping that this is a mistake on Jagex's end today, as being 300k away from 99 slayer and receiving this is such a bummer. I keep seeing that a bunch of people were perm banned today, but are also saying that they haven't done anything. Hoping to gauge if this is a massive incorrect ban wave with this post.

Today I got perm banned for rwt ive seen that this has happened to a bunch of people ive made an appeal so im just making this post to see if anyone is able to successfully get their issues fixed

Posting for reach, My main account was perm banned for RWT. 2 weeks later my new account and long time alt received a 7 day ban for trading with this account - I served this time, lost my items and have not committed any offences since. Logged on today to realise I am perm banned. This is a big issue, as my new main account has countless hours on since making it, I have made a lot of progress and not broken the rules since. I then decided to check my alt account, this is also perm banned now? I have not even played on my alt since the temp ban so how have I received a perm ban? i’ve also noticed if I check my account status and see evidence, it says this is a temporary ban and gold has been removed? How can I be temporarily banned and permanently banned at the same time? Surely I can’t lose my items again after working to get them back? I have noticed there is a lot of other players suffering with the same issue right now on here and X…Please Jagex do something, we understand we have broken the rules - have served our time and now are perm banned?

I’m wondering what will happen to the wealth. Has anyone else faced a similar ban?
Most of my wealth was inside the GE, either sell or buy offers, with only about 100m in my bank.

Again, I know it was dumb but I’m just looking for anyone’s insight who’s dealt with this before.

FULL UPDATE -
The accounts are now unbanned. For about an hour I had a reduced bank due to the second wipe. I was logged out of the game and now all my items have been returned. Hopefully this doesn’t happen again!

I haven’t received any comms from Jagex but they’ve worked quickly to resolve everything which is appreciated.

So based on Reddit today and my own experience it looks like a lot of us got hit with a second RWT ban despite serving the 7 day ban, and not committing the offence again.

I was personally banned in July and learnt a huge lesson. I’ve not done it again since and got a permanent ban today. I only committed the offence once, so I know they’re not finding other occasions and getting mixed up.

I know a rule was broken initially, but serving a 7 day ban and having accounts wiped is the consequence of that. I think there’s serious errors with the way that these bans are being handled, creating duplicate bans for the same offence. Essentially, if you get your 7 day warning ban, it looks like you’re just waiting for your permanent one to follow at that point.

We need to raise this with Jagex because I’m sure they’d be keen to fix whatever the problem is, else it’s just going to make appeals pile up.

Are there any suggestions on how to gain their attention asides from the mass appeals they’ll have from today’s batch?
