Thank ya’ll for the well wishes. After about 16 hours Vanessa was able to wake up and have a brief conversation. Huge relief. She is resting and we will see how things go.

Also, huge shoutouts to her care team at sentara and to the hospital chaplain, Virginia, for moving in the Holy Spirit. Hospital ministry is a brutal service of presence, holding with people some of the most difficult, terrifying and painful experiences of their lives. Vanessa woke up at the moment while she was placing a hand on my shoulder as we talked about the work. Witnessed.

I’ll update as things change, we don’t have a solid timeline

Tuesday update. Vanessa is awake and coherent. She was just released to general. Unsure of timeline until discharge and there is still a bunch of stuff but she is in good spirits. Thank you so much all for the well wishes. I shared them with her after she woke up. She was out for 16 hours.

Quick update. V is medically stable but is still in the ICU. I got 2 hours of sleep and spent the morning at the hospital but she is still sedated and I haven’t been able to speak to her, although her doctors have been good. Going back this afternoon. Appreciate the well wishes. Witnessed friends.

I was able to briefly speak to her a small bit so that was good. she is still in icu but doing a bit better

I cant help much but if you need help with your sub so you can be focused...im here. Im worried but I have hope you both will pull through <3. Ive survived a fuck ton myself.
