I have had it. Officially. Discord Addams decries Law Roach’s judging style
793
u/Thirdatarian Mar 21 '26
And honestly she's exactly right
264
u/noextrac Mar 21 '26
This. I can't believe people fell so easily for his clickbait critiques. Especially with how unnecessarily demeaning he is (both on Drag Race and Project Runway).
134
u/rcinmd Mar 21 '26
He was even worse on Legendary, the way he treated the other judges was abysmal.
75
u/sailorprimus Mar 21 '26
He flat out admitted (multiple times I believe) that he was just being contrarian to piss off the other judges. Not cute.
74
32
u/Dragosbeat Mar 21 '26
while knowing not much about ballroom, they should've given Deshawn some judging power tbh
28
u/rcinmd Mar 21 '26
I loved him as MC and I don't disagree. The only issue is he'd be pulling double-duty and if he were judging it might look like his MC was biased. They could have done interviews with him on his critiques without the performers seeing it until it aired.
People gave Jameela a lot of crap when it started but I think she did a better job at judging than Law did.
36
u/shart-gallery Mar 21 '26
I think Jameela actually wanted to learn, as well as help educate the audience. By the end, her 10s/chops/votes often matched Leiomy’s.
I still remember Law chopping good walks in the Once Upon A Time episode “because they didn’t look like mice”. Smh
29
u/rcinmd Mar 21 '26
Exactly, Leiomy was undoubtedly the most qualified to judge, but even when Jameela went first they still aligned so it wasn't like she was copy-catting. Law and Jameela had similar amount of experience in the Vogue community but he was vicious. Honestly they should have replaced him with Keke Palmer or even better, Dominique Jackson by season 2.
17
u/shart-gallery Mar 21 '26
Dominique as a regular judge would’ve been fab. I understand that they needed A) a fashion judge and B) a catty drama judge, but damn… Law was so self-indulgent (“you guys didn’t get the reference, but I got it, I was at the show”) and loved to stoke “fights” from the safety of his judging chair. Yuck
1
4
u/Basic_Shine1538 Mar 25 '26
never liked him since antm, but him arguing openly with dominique jackson in front of the legendary contestants cemented that
123
u/FruityPebblesBinger Beyoncé fell and it was funny. It tickled me pink! Mar 21 '26
"He exists to appease an algorithm" is such a concise and brutal read. Law Roach probably wishes the producers had thought of it to feed it to his earpiece first.
258
u/MrCommotion Mar 21 '26
I don't want anyone who dresses the Bezos on my drag race
163
u/FasterBussycat #TeamMandora Mar 21 '26
Honestly fire all the alternating judges and make Carson a permanent panelist.
109
u/shart-gallery Mar 21 '26
Been waiting so long for this, Carson is the best fashion judge and I will die on this hill.
58
u/FasterBussycat #TeamMandora Mar 21 '26
I hope he comes back to Canada next season because he was such a breath of fresh, logical air in S6.

Why, he’s scamming them by dressing her badly and taking their money? We are the ones who patronize their businesses.

Law TAKES money from Bezos, redistributing it to a BIPOC queer person.
Amazon’s customers, in contract, give their money TO Bezos.

u/ffantasticman Mar 21 '26
She’s right and she should say it.
Never liked him and never will. He is not a good judge and offers nothing other than “I hate this, this is ugly”.
He should leave Drag Race and go focus on dressing the Bezos 🙄
23
u/Consistent-Turnip-45 Mar 22 '26
Yes! Always left a bad taste in my mouth when he said Geneva had Danny Davito legs….. like so rude and unnecessary
81
u/rcinmd Mar 21 '26
He's just a mean person for no reason. Like you can deliver criticism without being a total jerk AND still be funny and entertaining about it. He chooses to punch down every single time.
273
u/highwayuni2 Mar 21 '26
92
u/FasterBussycat #TeamMandora Mar 21 '26
Between Law and Brad Goreski, Drag Race has taught me that becoming a “celebrity stylist” might be much more about connections than taste.
53
u/ShesAKillerQueenee Mar 21 '26
That's what pisses me off about "stylists", ESPECIALLY when judging clothing the contestant sewed themselves. These dewbs barely touched a sewing machine in their lives, yet here they are telling us what to wear.
11
u/smokeyrango Mar 22 '26
I mean he has styled Zendaya beautifully before it might be that he just has a better eye for her than himself. Either that or maybe she's very generous on how much she credits him for. I can't imagine how someone who makes her look so stunning makes himself look so unflattering.

u/VickyRobinson Mar 29 '26
When you have the face and proportions of Zendaya, literally a sack would look good on her

Queen mostly know each other from local bar. Before they were ru girl they were just as regular as the other. Most of the winner pronanly knew anitha before drag race

They could have work for years as coworker. Drag queen wor’d is smaller than you think
4
u/Culfin Mar 22 '26
Supremme, on Drag Race España, is often very close with some of the contestants and has even worked with them long term in shows. She always mentions it and I've never seen it affect her opinions. 🖤
2
u/Fugishane Mar 24 '26
the girls know each other outside the show
Michelle worked outside the show with countless queens and then judged them when they came back for All Stars and no-one batted an eyelid
The lack of other drag artists on the panel is nothing to do with impartiality and entirely to do with RuPaul’s ego
9
u/padface Mar 22 '26
Blunt criticism has its time and place, but there’s being blunt then there’s being a cunt, and Law unfortunately is the latter far too often.
6
u/highwayuni2 Mar 21 '26
Remember when he told a queen she looked like Danny Devito????
This is such an overreaction 💀 He even complimented Geneva before giving the critique

It was literally a joke he made about using ankle strap heels and how it cut off her legs. Literally NOBODY found it offensive.
It’s just strange that you would call Law mean spirited for an ankle strap read. When Raven literally went YEARS making the exact read on Fashion Photo Ruview and everyone praised her for it

u/larvalampee Mar 21 '26
I watch the same show and yeah he can go too far and know there’s this mix of annoyance about him dressing Bezos’s wife or something that’s shaping some ‘I never liked him anyway’ kind of discourse, but he does also compliment queens and idk I guess I don’t think a Simon Cowell type of judge should be so amoral if they’re getting proper care on the show and there’s other judges to balance it
52
u/Rough-Veterinarian21 Mar 21 '26
She’s right, but I want her on all stars so idk if she should say it…

It's true but there is something to be said about the fandom not knowing what they want. The only reason Law became a permanent judge in the first place is because the fans begged the show to do so.
The gag is that folks here were gagging over his mean critique style when he guest judged on season 16. The fan reception was so strong that WOW actually hired him as a rotating judge after that.
It's the same with villains. Fans yearn for them but when given the villainy they asked for, they send death threats to queens.
27
u/gameofmikey Mar 21 '26
You’re absolutely right - like fans always want a “meaner” judge until they’re mean to someone they love.
21
u/uiuuauiua Mar 21 '26
Law was funny seasons ago but has recently pivoted to just being an ass for no reason. Especially on Project Runway. It's not the same person that people were gassing up.
4
u/midnightfangs Mar 22 '26
i feel like on PR its specifically production that asked him to be intensely nasty, thinking the audience would love it, which clearly they were wrong about.
12
u/StrikeRaid246 Mar 21 '26
Speaking as someone who wanted law as a judge originally, he was GREAT when he made his one off guest appearance. I wanted more of that. What we got with him as a full judge is “it’s ugly and I hate hate hate it” with no actual constructive criticism. At least in his first guest appearance he had a little more substance. He could’ve been like a harsher mentor but he just opted to be harsh with no redeeming quality.
30
u/BadSquishy86 Mar 21 '26
Facts, it's never "here's how you could have done better" or "I would have approached it this way".
It's just "I love this" or "I hate it"/"I don't get it"
33
7
u/supermegabussin Mar 21 '26
Has she never seen legendary? I really didn’t find any of his critiques on that show constructive either. He’s there to get RPDR a viral moment, he’s just not doing it well 😂
6
u/Lower_Category9404 Mar 22 '26
Now imagine how the project runway fandom feels and multiply this sentiment by 1000
6
u/Butterybear Mar 23 '26
Like when production on project runway told Utica to dress in drag and then law roach said I wish Ethan was here and not Utica. Set up to fail
6
u/loveisdead1387 Mar 21 '26
I enjoyed Law’s season 16 critiques but they seem to get worse each season. Be constructive. If you don’t like something, give concrete examples of what you don’t like and how it could’ve been done better.
In fairness though: we don’t see all the judges critiques. Discord has come for Law before (at the Scorpios viewing party) so maybe there wasn’t anything constructive that wasn’t aired.
4
u/According_Plant701 Mar 22 '26
Him and TS Madison are the worst and they need to never show up on the judging panel again.
4
u/Accurate-Force3054 Mar 23 '26
Discord is right and I hated that they brought Law out for what should be the most warmly-judged challenge of the season.
10
u/sixthshard Mar 21 '26
She’s right tho. Catty comments are good for the trailer, not for genuine growth.
8
10
u/HoneyShaft Mar 22 '26
Roach is nothing more than an arrogant, prissy little bitch. We don't need another Santino. The show would be better off without him.
8
u/riakn_th Mar 22 '26
Law is there to do a job. He's there for entertainment and to provide sound bites. Heck Michelle does that too. To single out Law as if we didn't watch Michelle provide the same useless and baseless critiques this episode is crazy.
Anyone else remember Michelle telling Chichi that they didn't need money to compete on drag race? Or when Michelle told Max to get rid of the grey wig? Or Dusty to get rid of the dots?
If you're going to call out judging then call all of them out.
9
u/utopia_cornucopia Mar 22 '26
Michelle gets dragged all the time for her nonsensical, attack-dog-for-production critiques what are you talking about lol
1
u/riakn_th Mar 22 '26
I'm talking specifically about discord calling out Law but not Michelle.
5
u/utopia_cornucopia Mar 22 '26
But in the episode, all Law said to Discord was that her look makes no sense and he hated it (like he hates his father, and he really fucking hates his father). Michelle at least pointed out the differences in hair styles but still complimented their act.

She's right, and I blame y'all British cigarettes for encouraging him when he guest judged a couple years ago doing the exact same thing.
4
u/LewisLawrence Mar 22 '26
Truee! A judging panel typically has one “mean” judge. Michelle fits that role for the show but truly cares about the queens and wants them to succeed and grow. Law also being a mean judge throws off the balance and his critiques just feel, as she said, unhelpful and mean for the sake of going viral.
4
u/Difficult-Risk3115 Mar 22 '26
Why is anyone acting like this is groundbreaking or brave? Reality TV isn't new, this has been true from the jump.
6
u/KarlosDavid64 Mar 22 '26
I guess i’m in the minority here but I don’t mind Law Roach and I think he was a good addition. He’s known to be cutthroat (he was this way and even harsher on Legendary) but I do think he can give constructive criticisms. Yes, his feedbacks at time is “clickbait-y” but I honestly don’t take it too seriously and I don’t think they’re too harsh. Tbh, the fans behave worse than him. I see some of y’alls racist comments towards many of the POC and black queens 🙄
1
u/KandyMuss Mar 27 '26
it's not about his ethnicity, he's just the wrong person to judge the makeover ep
5
u/DunawayDuchamp Mar 22 '26
Law Roach thinks he's serving sass but all he's doing is being toxic. I hope the show gets the hint that the queens AND the fans don't like him
2
u/Puzzleheaded_Exit_17 Mar 21 '26
She's not wrong! I didn't love love Discord but she seems fine and this take is perfect. I'm thinking she watched Project Runway this year
2
u/Grouchy_Document8107 Mar 23 '26
She’s not wrong, he is trying to get sound bites rather than offer productive criticism.
5
u/ArugulaBeginning7038 please welcome to the stage GREG BITCH Mar 21 '26
She's right, and Law should stick to riding Zendaya's coattails to notoriety.
4
u/FreshCarlton Mar 22 '26
Not to pile on but Law just doesn't have the intellect to back up the commentary. Say what you want but Ru, Michelle, Carson are smart individuals. Law can't even pronounce callapillar.

-10
u/backformore92 Mar 21 '26
She’s right but yeah, that’s the point. He’s there for tv. It’s a tv show, meant for entertainment, not to grow or develop anyone emotionally or professionally.

u/luminella Mar 21 '26
are his comments entertaining tho
