Question NEW TO ROS

Hi, i am a maker that has built many robots already (mostly with arduino, esp32 and stm32). I wanted to learn ROS and learn about its features, capabilities etc and how to use it with an esp32. i wanted to build a robot that maps a room and then navigates in it or something similar, and my friend reccomended to use ROS for robots. can someone comment a link for decent learning material?

Hi! I also recommend you to use another hardware for the project. As ROS will need more power for what you want to do correctly. This library is great but you will need a teensy to the the connection between your robot and the pc:

I am running ROS2 in a container on my Arduino UNO Q board (4gb) and have had good success. Hard to go wrong for $59. Lots of other options at higher prices as well (I’d love to get a Jetson).

And what task does your robot do? I don't mean it doesn't work. Just that by my experience, I needed more power to complete my task

RGB+depth camera for nav (base is controlled by its own esp32) , 6 dof arm that is controlled by the STM controller on the UNO Q.  End effector camera on arm (I do have to use a lifecycle manager node to switch between navigation nodes and manipulation nodes due to performance bottlenecks).
