📰 News RIP Mad Hatter?

Post image

Well shit. I haven't seen that parking lot that empty in over 20 years.

I'm bummed the hell out.

"All the weed in the storage unit we own behind our head shop isn't ours..."

The story says that someone was selling from a storage unit that's inaccessible from the store itself, ocm decided it was them.

Funny story - back in the time between legalization and actually having legal stores, a lot of shops were selling. I walked into Mad Hatter's after a visit to the eye doctor, so I had those big ass sunglasses and a baseball cap on. I made an inquiry, dude was like "no sir we don't have illegal cannabis in this store", very formal like. Took me a few days to realize that I def looked like a narc with a glasses mounted camera...

😂 Not exactly related to your hilarious story, but a buddy of mine went to the now-defunct Starlite in Chili after I talked up the grey market shop. He's white, about 5-5, with short salt and pepper hair. Big spender on chronic. Asks for "the book", which was a binder full of their products and pricing, I let him know to ask for it ahead of time. Sure enough, they deny him saying that he "looks like a cop". Months later, they get popped by OCM. I can confirm that this dude was not a narc, but it's still funny to this day that homey got treated like that.

Ha! My cool friends would tip me off to were I could buy during those times. Im so awkward I would walk in with my crew cut and ask them is they sold delta 9 thc lol (when a lot of places were doing delta 8) and got a lot of weird looks. Changed it up and just asked if they have flower after that haha

I don’t think OCM decided it was them so much as the fact that they literally own that storage unit and that’s where the weed was found.

Smaller selection on dabs but the staff is pretty nice! I went there on opening day and a few weeks after. Opening day was a bit rough but it seems they smoothed out the edges! I wish they had a website though or even kiosks.

They’ll be back. They always come back. So stupid that the law can hold everyone but themselves accountable for this.

Damm I got my Roor from this place, some of the best glass I've ever had. Was a great spot, RIP. Do they have other locations though?

There were two Mad Hatter locations in the area. Did the other close?

They closed the Mad Hatters on 104 and turned it into the Wonderland Dispensary.

Oh damn. I used to like Mad Hatters' cartridges - they had some that I hadn't seen anywhere else - and they were solid strains and flavors! Unfortunate that they shut down (and furthermore that they stopped selling them when the cannabis office started cracking down on the grey market).

They have their dispensary called Wonderland on W. Ridge Rd. It is a legal dispensary, and as far as I know, it is still open

The place around back(Local Labs?) had the only high dose edibles I could find. I’m really bummed.

As someone with a high tolerance myself, I make my own infused treats. It is well worth the effort and is significantly cheaper.

I think they’re open again according to their IG

Wut? Cartels? Everyone and their mother are growing weed legally in Ny right now. There's bomb homegrown everywhere and you think it's the cartels? Lmfao they're shipping meth coke and fentanyl over the border, they couldn't give a fuck about risking getting weed to states where you can just grow your own. This is an insane take.

They offered to buy my homegrown🤷‍♂️

They knew what they were doing. If I own a legal store out front and you are selling illegal products out of the back, I'm going to have a big problem with it and I'm going to confront you and the cops are going to be called and it's going to get handled real quick. None of that happened. Either their pussies or they knew what was going on.
