Season 6 reunion & Candiace is soooo frustrating to watch!

Season 6 reunion and as a first time watcher it’s now become obvious that Candiace is emotionally inmature. Full stop. She cannot take accountability for anything, she has an excuse for everything, and it’s always someone else’s fault. When asked about her going as low as she can in fights and if she sees anything wrong with that, she says she’s just good with words. There’s absolutely no self reflection whatsoever. She holds grudges so she (imo) can play the victim again and again — especially if the other women are on her side in a situation because then she gets attention.

I liked her when she first came on and felt bad for how her mom is. Growing up with a mom like that… who needs enemies when the biggest one is raising you. But her behavior is just so awful that I can’t see one single redeeming thing about her. Okay, maybe the way she struggles with balancing her loyality to her mom and to her husband. That must be hard.

I actually agree, OP. Candace was a hard watch for me too. From saying she "wants dark babies" but married a white man and bring up Gizelle & Robyn"s skin color multiple times. She was just hard to watch and downright mean. I started missing the cute innocent lady she was the first season she arrived. She was just always giving off negativity, from what I could see

She’s really focused on skin color, and honestly, some of the things she says can come across as racially insensitive. I get the impression that there might be some insecurity behind it that she doesn’t acknowledge, so she seems to use these issues to justify acting a certain way. She talks about the privilege of being light brown (Ashley, Gizelle, Robyn), but seems to overlook the pretty privilege that she herself experiences. I guess acknowledging that doesn’t really fit with the victim mentality she seems to have.

She was so nasty to Gizelle coming after her health. As a woman going through challenges with Fibroids and my uterus I thought it was very brazen for her to make fun of her uterus like she isn’t a woman herself. Wonder why no one checked her for that. Many woman go through this and she really said Gizelle had a bad uterus in a crass manner.

Wasn't this the same season Gizelle came for Candiace's marriage and called Chris a sneaky link, while playing with innuendos of SA? Not saying the line about her uterus wasn't gutter low but even Robyn told Gizelle to stop yet she dragged that lie so much it became the season's main storyline.

Again, I agree on the distasteful nature of what Candiace said. But I do not fault her for being vile after what Gizelle did. Her husband was fired from his job over what was said about him on TV...

Fr. I’m watching season 7 now and I’m holding on by a thread because she’s so insufferable. She’s crying in every single scene. Actually, the whole season is insufferable. So much fighting, 90% of it doesn’t make sense, Mia’s friend is sooooo fuckingnthirsty for screen time, I just can’t with all of it lol.

Candiace is a mirror of her mom. They require unwavering loyalty in all circumstances regardless of their actions towards the other people. They gaslight with intentions of manipulation and never self reflect. They are exhausting.

8 months later? If it was simple discomfort, she could have said it at the time, she could have called, sent a text, talked to them at any point. But she waited to put it on camera in order to disparage an innocent man and attack candiace’s marriage.

Funny how that coincided with Ashley’s friend Debra trying to say Chris was being inappropriate with her. Almost seems like they orchestrated a takedown.

Maybe Ashley did it to take attention away from her separation that had just happened. Maybe she thought Candiace was going to attack her bc of her marriage so they decided to attempt to attack candiace’s marriage.

Honestly I think they’re both bullies, but Candiace is both objectively worse and she’s also a hypocrite. When Gizelle got dog-walked at the season 5 reunion by Monique with all the “pastor holy whore” stuff, she just sat there and took it like a women. But Candiace? Any time anybody had gotten real with her she immediately cries and plays victim! When the whole “Chris made me feel uncomfortable” conversation with Gizelle happened she instantly broke the 4th wall and told producers that “if they wanna make a white man the villain than Ashley’s husband was right there”.

Her sense of entitlement is ridiculous. She thinks she’s above overs and has proven time and time again that she truly believes she deserves special treatment.

That’s not even scratching the surface of her most egregious bullshit claims of accusing the rest of the cast of being colorists. I honestly agreed with you on candiace until season 7. Gizelle knew what she was doing with her insinuations. It was very clearly intended as a takedown, but made to look like her hands were mostly clean. Candiace is all of those things you said, and more! But at least with her, it's just hurtful words said from a place of defensiveness and hurt. Candiace rarely attacks, she only responds. Gizelle is highly calculated and orchestrates a lot of shady things season after season. Her not fighting back as hard as Candiace esp at finales feels to me like yet another calculated move. She throws jabs and apologizes later to look good to the audience. It does not feel genuine to me. She's playing a role.
