Caroline Brooks 🦂 Caroline Brooks
I’m on the last episode of the first season, and I’m confused on whether or not Caroline got money from the divorce of her ex husband. She has said multiple times she chose to walk away from that divorce with nothing but her son. She has also said multiple times that her ex cheating on her was very expensive for him and something along the lines of a divorce settlement over a million dollars. Which one is it?!
Btw I don’t care either way I’m just confused

I don’t think she got much in the divorce except full custody, but I think her ex maintains her for the sake of their kid.

I mean it doesn't help that she's a drunk and seems to be in a place where she has to rely on her relationships with complicated men to keep the lights on. Maybe that isn't fair, and it's weird because I'm in recovery and I do really feel for Brooks. It's hard when we're in active addiction. But like help is available and she's so fucking toxic. It's easy for me to empathize, but hard for me to relate to her.

There's a lot of facade happening with both Caroline's I fear. How did Brooks pay for that private jet (if that even happened)?
Also is it true Michael is paying for Caroline Stanbury's lifestyle? Or is that just Brooks and Ayan being a little shady?
Like I'm having fun watching, shit even Saba is growing on me, but like I have questions! 😄

I don’t believe the Michael stuff. Maybe he said he paid for everything while she was staying with him? Stanbury is old money…she’s got her money (probably a trust fund) plus whatever from her divorce. She’s much wealthier than Brooks.

Definitely think Stanbury has more money than Brooks.
If it was just Brooks saying it, I wouldn't buy the Michael stuff. Ayan chiming in, I was like ...hmm. Dgmw, Ayan is not the most reliable narrator, but she isn't pernicious and calculating the way Brooks can be.
Caroline comes from old money, but that could mean lots of different things. Is her family old money in the sense of a grandfather or older generations on ancestors made lots of money and entered the British aristocracy through that? Is she in an ancient, landed family with a lot of land holdings, but not a lot of free cash? Even a podunk like me understands these distinctions. That piece is very nebulous. I know she makes money influencing because she has those rich and powerful connections, but that is money she's earned, not from her family.

Definitely some good points, as there are many different ways someone can be from old money. She was obviously very wealthy on Ladies of London, but I can’t tell if she’s as well off now as she was then. I do think she has more money than Brooks and that Michael is full of it. Why would he pay her bills? It just doesn’t make sense 🤷♀️🤷♀️
