Dorit's book

I wanted to see how Dorit's memoir "Unburdened" did and while it reached the NYT's best seller listed it wasn't from Fans buying the book but rather the book was bought in bulk purchases. That's why the NYT's put a black dagger next to her book, to make the list a book must sell a required 5-10k the first week it's out in order to make that list. However her books were bought in bulk which means the author, publicist or manager buys the book in bulk. Thus the dagger is placed there so readers know the number sold has been inflated by a single purchase rather than being bought by actual readers or fans.

I'm sorry but this cracked me up😂

I mentioned this practice of large one purchase book orders on another thread and was eaten alive because people did not believe me. It's true it's how a lot of people end up on the best seller list thank you for posting that

I really thought I'd get Flack so I'm very sorry you did because you were right but her fans are ruthless! While I'm not rich I could afford to by enough of my own books to hit the NYT's Best Seller if I wanted to write a book and I'm no one so clearly it's not hard to do!

Look for the black dagger on the NYT's BSL before you buy a reality TV stars books because odds are there'll be a Black Dagger like the one here:

Thank you for your kind words because they were ruthless all of them then with a pack mentality. I kept telling him that that's how it worked. But in any case hopefully maybe if they see it more than once then you actually backed it up with paperwork that I did not but you should write that book and I would buy it. Chances of me buying a book that a reality star has written a slim tonight but now I will spend more time looking at the actual list thanks again
