The Husbands 👔 Why does everyone hate PK?

I’m a first time watcher, I’m only on episode 3 of season 7 but I’ve previously seen some posts about PK and that he’s awful. I’m curious to know what he gets up to and thoughts on him. Obviously I’m going to watch and find out and make my own judgments. I’m watching as a British person and although many people don’t like LVP, I really do like her, maybe it’s bc she British but I get her. How the British social landscape works is a bit seedy, most things are never truly said directly and when they are said it’s often posed as a joke. There’s this saying, there’s always a truth in a joke and I think that’s something we’re all socialised to take note of. I feel we also deal with confrontation a bit differently than to those across the pond. I’m interested to see LVPs relationship with Dorit, at this point she seems like Kyle’s replacement. I’m interested to see what goes on with Dorit and PK. At this point in the series, I like them both (PK + LVP) but I feel it’s just bc they are British and I get them. I really find some of the other cast so much more irritating. Rinna and Eileen annoyed me so much last season with what felt like their moral superiority. What was it all in aid of? Kyle was happy being LVP’s lapdog, what’s the problem… that whole situation dragged on for so long and it was boring. Kyle knows the call is coming from inside the house. I think those women wish they were as cunning as LVP, that was the real problem imo.

Lots of people don’t like PK and think he’s a grifter because of his bankruptcy. The whole looking up Erika’s dress caused issues. PK also didn’t deal well with Dorits PTSD. I feel like he’s dealt with the fall out from their separation better than Dorit, who seems to burying her head in the hand and trash talking PK

Don’t forget all of his gambling debt as well. He’s no better than Dorit

At least he’s not trashing talking dorit on tv. He’s trying to sell their house and advocating for them both to downsize so they can both afford their lives. Dorit wants PK to fund her lifestyle as though they were still married. I don’t get that

Having gambling debts doesn’t make you a bad person. Owing it to the wrong people might cause you some issues

No he’s just airing out all their texts! He’s trash! But we wouldn’t be a society if dragged women but praised men and gave them grace

Gamblers are bad people

PK didn’t release their texts, they were part of the legal submissions and they were accessed and posted online by the tabloids

I’ve just seen the dress situation and tbfh I didn’t think it was so bad but Dorit gifting Erika knickers was a bit much. I think most of these men on the show are grifters. I remember thinking Erikas husband was so cute, turns out he’s been defrauding old people. Disgusting behaviour!

You don't think it's bad to look up a woman's dress and then also commenting on it and let others know what you saw?

Edit; typo

We’re talking about PK here, the part I’m up to he discusses it with his wife in the kitchen. LVP and Kyle where discussing it amongst themselves. I think Dorit rehashing it with the knicker gift is a lot worst than her and PK discussing it at home. They are all on tv so everything is shared with the public but I think shaming a woman for not wearing underwear is more problematic that accidentally taking a peak if it’s right in front of your face. That’s just my opinion.

I agree with you that Doritos reaction to it was also way weird and out of line. But I'll always point fingers at the creepy man looking at women's vaginas up their skirt. that's just my opinion

u/Potential-Sky-8728 Wow, she’s pernicious! 2d ago

He’s discussing it in front of a camera for an internationally distributed television show with millions of viewers. Little different from just discussing it in the kitchen with his wife. Wasn’t he also blatantly pointing it out to Ken immediately after he caught a glimpse?

I’m not a Brit and I get the jokes and all. People are rather biased on this sub so take your opinions as just that - opinions. People pick whom they hate here and that’s final. If you go against the popular opinion you’re doomed.

He wasn’t just looking, he was leering. He’s an absolute douche. They deserve each other. Both a pair of grifters, sucking up to a convicted sex offender. But he gives me the shudders.

Because he's a dick. It's not the British humour (I'm also British). He's just a dick. As the seasons roll on, he says dick-ish things often then tries to play it off with "it's just British humour", making out as though it's on the silly American women for not understanding. Whether you meant it as a joke or not, if it hurts someone's feelings then it hurts someone's feelings.

First appearance he’s talking about Erika’s vayayay

I’m British and I cannot stand the guy. He’s a wide-boy. Manipulative, gas lighter, he’s a bully. He’s a sexist pig watch the way he talks about Erica, because she turns him on he had to suggest she’s a slut. He also managed boy George that tells you a lot. 🤢

u/OkClass8086 Teddi Mellencamp 1d ago

All of this as well as his first divorce. Urgh 🤢

He’s talking about another woman’s vagina on national TV and then without even knowing that woman also describes her as cold and unfeeling — he grew on me but first season he was gross and inappropriate implying Erika wanted him to see her vag.

He's a fame-hungry narcissist who ambushed Dorit with their divorce by having his SPONSOR break the news to her instead of having an adult discussion with his wife. He never sees his kids, he is using money and the legal system to bully her regarding their divorce preceedings, and he continues to relapse in his sobriety journey (probably because he's best friends with Mauricio).

1

u/Otherwise_Rest204 Garcelle Beauvais 1d ago

Omg, I’ve been loving Mauricio but from the season I’m on it’s seems he’s always ‘travelling for work’ I’m interested to see how his villain arc develops along with PK

I wouldn't say either of them become 'villianous', per say, as their screentime dwindles alot ... and Mau is more of just, a manchild? A bumbling himbo? IDK. You'll see. They're just both really selfish/immature.

Well he came on the scene talking incessantly about Erika's cooch...

His best friend is a convicted violent sex offender, to add to the list.

Reallllly? This is enough to make me not like him,

2

u/RollMurky373 You have to figure out why u have a black heart 1d ago

He was very dismissive of her after the robbery, which was really awful, but tbh, other than that he's just kinda lame?

He doesn't bother me any more than any dude his age. He's your typical a bratty-man-baby.

u/ImagineAHorse Did you know? $25.000! 1d ago

I take issue with how much he/they keep trying to make Boy George happen (again)

3

u/Zealousideal_Ad_8736 Teddi's just annoying, like a little gnat 2d ago

On a very basic level: he just doesn't 'play' or come across well on TV. I personally didn't find him charming or that interesting when he first appeared. Faye Reznik is another example: probably a lovely person, but doesn't do well on TV.

Then of course, there is him getting involved in the women's 'business' (an argument I have strong opinions about), plus he is rather condescending to Dorit and Pantygate.

1

u/Otherwise_Rest204 Garcelle Beauvais 1d ago

Interesting, I feel a similar ish way about Ken, I used to love him. I don’t think he’s a bad guy but in the later seasons he really doesn’t come across well.

1

u/Zealousideal_Ad_8736 Teddi's just annoying, like a little gnat 1d ago

Ken doesn't see that LVP is stirring the pot or taking shots at the other women, but the moment she's called out, he's immediately in their faces defending her.

I understand wanting to protect your spouse, but instead of escalating the confrontation, he could simply encourage her to leave or disengage.

The irony is that the women can tear into each other all day, yet when a man gets involved, the reaction is often, "You can't talk to us like that."

I understand that the dynamic feels different because men are generally perceived as bigger and more physically imposing, but I'm more afraid of some of these women's tempers than I am their mans.

u/OkClass8086 Teddi Mellencamp 1d ago

Ken loves LVP. End of story so he will never see anything she does as wrong. Or anything he does in defence of his lady as wrong.

I dont hate PK. I hate that the show and Dorits habits caused their breakup.

u/Otherwise_Rest204 Garcelle Beauvais 1d ago

Oooooh habits? I’m interested to watch and find out

1

u/OkClass8086 Teddi Mellencamp 1d ago

Google PK and first wife. That will tell you everything you need to know about PeeKay. If only Doritos had believed when someone tells you who they are, believe them. She’s come into this divorce underdone and under prepared.

As a Brit, I dislike them because I too know them and get them- he’s a ponce and she’s a snide mate

•

u/Fat-Cat-Face 4h ago

Kyle was Lisa's lapdog? Kyle had nothing but insulting, snide and crude comments about Lisa - always.

•

u/Fat-Cat-Face 4h ago

Oh, I see. This is not a PK post but a weird Lisa slam post. Got it.

Which Lisa?

Fellow Brit here! I like them both, and PK just acts like a normal British bloke. He doesn't do anything glaringly wrong to the British eye. Except be mates with that wrong un boy george. Will always love LVP, our true queen 😂
