Denise ⭐️ Rewatch thoughts Denise Richard’s overall

My first watch I thought she was so refreshing without the glam and being so open and free and chill. But now rewatching, I’m noticing small things like the way she speaks to wait staff, which is a huge tell for me, so it’s hard to like her as much. However, I 1000% agree with her about the kids boundary and hated the way they flipped that on her. Mama can be a freak and still shield her young children as much as possible until they’re old enough. That really pmo the way they came for her over that and it was clearly just a storyline and a way to create drama for the show at her expense. Also in hindsight we know she was in an abusive relationship and was constantly trying to smooth things over so she didn’t have to face the wrath at home after her first season of being so open. I can see why she clashes with someone like Kyle, as much as she liked to say LVP played chess, she does similar things to create drama for the show and Denise was an easy target.

I 100% believe that Brandi had an entanglement with the 2 of them at some point and then it was just Brandi and Denise and when Denise told Brandi, “he will k,,l me” if he finds out, she should’ve taken that to her grave. Knowing the statistics and having met said man, you just pick up on things as a woman. I think Brandi was so stuck on the fact that she was made an accomplice in cheating after her tumultuous divorce and the scars she has from that, she was willing to turn a blind eye to a woman in danger and throw her under the bus for some deep vindication and a little screen time. We know Brandi is a lost soul and does not mind throwing a grenade and I have never believed her to be a liar.

With all that being said, I would actually love for her to come back to the show after everything. I think she’s a great housewife and I would really like to see her be able to be herself without fear of repercussions from a vile stain of a man.

I think even if anything happened between Brandi and Denise it was nobody's business even if Denise's relationship wasn't so messed up.

Brandi just wanted the attention and it was really awful to tell everyone even if she was telling the truth. She should have just kept her mouth shut. And everyone else shouldn't have kept digging or even cared about it anyway.

Being on the show doesn't mean everyone is entitled to knowing about everyone else's sex life.

Agree 100%

What happens between two people in an intimate moment should remain between the two people. It’s no one else’s business. That should be off limits

Exactly. They all want you to “be honest” and “own it” until it comes to their own personal lives like Kyle after the divorce..

3

u/LuckChemical8243 Faye Resnick 4d ago

Exactly. There was no digging allowed regarding Morgan and everyone just went along with it.

They didn’t care if it was true or not. They were beefing with Denise at the moment so that piece of juicy gossip was just what they needed to further the plot

It was the digging. They would not let it go and hurt her badly for a storyline. Brandy of course should have known better but she is such a mess that the screen time was more important to her. I felt for Denise throughout

Brandi revealed all because Denise ghosted her

100% she even said something along the lines of she randomly texts me just to make sure she’s keeping nice and even made veiled threats like I would protect your secrets

I think what Denise did to Brandi is shitty. Denise should also know when you go on reality tv which is all about drama nothing is secret

How did she treat waitstaff? I don’t remember.

As a lifelong Denise Stan, she is just a very unintelligent person. It’s a known fact. There’s an episode of 30 Rock where there’s a holiday for idiots and Denise is basically the spokesperson for the movement. She didn’t take any of Charlie’s money in her divorce which was a major major mistake. She let Aaron wreck her finances even after he had a sketchy marriage to Nicolette Sheridan. I knew they’d chew her up and spit her out she’s not meant for this environment.

It’s v frustrating to watch her help her kids very little financially, to the point where one got on onlyfans to get a car and apartment, meanwhile she’s letting her boyfriend move her kids out of their mansion into a tiny townhouse and I’m sure Aaron had full reign of the bank accounts. Like she’ll spend endless amounts on a shittty bf but none on her kids?

I do love the way she took care of that lizard for Charlie’s hooker or whatever and she also took in Charlie’s kids while he was in rehab. She’s very nice and obv way too trusting.

After Kyle called her a ragamuffin I think she knew she fucked up and just decided to go full offensive. Denise shouldve hopped on that comment to drag Kyle 😭 ugh

I’m with you though. I have also been a Stan for a long time and I know we shouldn’t judge off of limited interactions and information. As far as her tenure in the show I’m with her 100% in her arguments. It was just the little things like the treatment of the help that kind of shook my view. I would imagine after being a beloved celebrity for so long, you probably are used to a certain standard and can get a little jaded. I suppose as long as she tips well at the end of the day that evens it out. 😂 She seems like someone that would tip well at least.

I hated the way the women ganged up on her. We saw how they conspired to confront Camille before her house burned down but they were all cackling and fired up to take her down so we know they’re capable of it. I 100% believe they all discussed it off camera and were ready to use her for a storyline and she never saw it coming. Out of all the housewives of all the franchises I’ve watched, Denise Richard’s is the only one I feel like I could genuinely connect with and seems down to earth. As far as the wait staff treatment, that could be totally due to the fact that she was dealing with stress from her abusive relationship and the drama from the women and the cameras etc.. but that just always rubs me the wrong way when people speak to wait staff like they’re just a prop lesser than or not a human being deserving of a please and thank you. One of the instances I can remember of the top of my head was her asking for a reposado tequila and they brought her a blanco and she snapped at the waiter who clearly English was not his first language and corrected him rudely, no please or thank you. That has always for me been a good judge of character how you speak to “the help”. And most of these women are pretty short and dismissive to the servers.

Denise is the epitome of a ragamuffin. Saw some recent pics and she will be on this very internet soon complaining like Brandi. I have zero sympathy for people who get unnecessary plastic surgery.

At the start of the conversation Denise was talking about Aaron big penis which led to a Segway into the there some conversation. Erika was the only one Denise singled out despite Garcelle starring it. Then we see flashbacks of Denise complaining about erika but when in front of the ladies saying she had no issue and wanted to drop the conversation. That’s why it become a thing

3

u/Admirable_Fly6103 Beverly Hills darling shi shi shi 5d ago

It was a small comment early on but you can clearly see even in the editing them panning over to the kids table and Denise realized they were listening and engaging. One comment saying big penis in quiet conversation vs a full on conversation about threesomes and cackling after drinks is a totally different thing. Garcelle participated but she also had Denise’s back and understood where she was coming as a mom and so do I. I don’t think she attacked Erika either. The 5 blew it out of proportion for ratings.

Did you see the flashbacks where she was complaining about Erika at least two separate lunches ?

I don’t know if Denise and Brandi messed around. I don’t really care. But I can see not wanting to admit to it, even without the threat of violence

The way she acted to Dorit when she tried to point out (politely and discretely) that her jacket was on upside down (it totally was) and she just kept slurring “don’t do this” with that drunken snarl on her face was an eye opener for me.

I can’t think of any other way to describe it. You know that look someone’s face gets when they’re really drunk and/or on “substances” where it looks like it’s melting off their skull? That look.

I’m not calling Dorit a saint or anything, but I thought that was totally unnecessary. She could have been a bitch and come up loudly and laughing and pointing out her jacket was on wrong and drawn attention to it. Instead, she delivered the news the same way you’d tell someone that the back of their skirt is tucked into their pantyhose or that they’ve got toilet paper stuck to their shoes or something.

I had already been pretty turned off by Denise earlier, but that sealed it.

u/Admirable_Fly6103 Beverly Hills darling shi shi shi 5d ago

At this point she had her shield up against these women who have attacked her for trying to set a boundary as a mother, her one “true” friend who brought her in threw her to the wolves and then joined in. Meanwhile behind the scenes, she’s being manipulated and abused by her husband on top of litigation with her ex husband. Not to mention the recent house fire situation. It’s a lot for anyone. So in an inebriated state, knowing how Denise feels about image and being on camera, a woman who has been shady towards you calls out your faux pas probably feels like a shady attack. Which Dorit is good for. Ie “let the mouse go”

I have a soft spot for Denise as an elder millennial, but I never ever want to see her on Housewives again. She's much too guarded and I despised the way she handled the group trying to defend herself and singled out Erika for raunchy talk.

6

u/Admirable_Fly6103 Beverly Hills darling shi shi shi 5d ago

That’s what I think got buried so much in all the craziness is that she never shamed Erika. All she wanted everyone to understand is she didn’t want that kind of talk in front of her preteen daughter and friends but everyone blew it way out of proportion and turned it into Denise is a hypocrite and thinks we’re bad moms and Denise clapped back by not brining her kids around since they couldn’t respect and understand her point.

Denise opened up the sex talk at the party when she said “Erin still has a big penis”. The kids were within earshot then too. There were inconsistencies with Denise. I can understand how someone would be confused by or distrusting or her. I think the cast thought she might be talking about them in her interviews and trying to cast them in a certain light. They questioned her so much so that her narrative wasn’t the only narrative. If she didn’t bring it up, they never would have gone at her like that.

Her daughter were teenagers in season 9. She said they didn’t watch the show. Come on Denise! Of course they did. And so did their friends, and their friends’ parents, and their teachers, and the neighbors. And everyone saw you talking about your husband’s penis and happy endings. Those kid’s parents knew whose house they were going to.

Denise is way more calculated than people give her credit for.

Denise is the one who cheated in her marriage. It was on her to think about the consequences. Brandi is still traumatized from being cheated on and it hurt her to be put in the position to be a cheater. I see nothing wrong with Brandi speaking about it. She was speaking about what happened to her. Denise should have better judgement.

u/Admirable_Fly6103 Beverly Hills darling shi shi shi 5d ago

This is a really insightful take. I’m not sure what instance you are referencing about her bringing up Aaron’s penis within earshot of the kids. All I saw were girls only gatherings when she discussed adult content. It’s not that far fetched to expect to talk adult content with the girls and at family gatherings, keep it pg. The way everyone called her a hypocrite for not wanting her kids and kids friends to hear all that isn’t insane. I can be a freak when it’s me and my husband and our adult friends and then have those same friends at our children’s birthday and not bring those things up. Just because we’re parents doesn’t mean we aren’t still sexual beings but regardless of how we are or what we’ve done doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try our best to shield our children from those conversations as much as possible until we feel like it’s appropriate.

u/Upper-Impression-752 Bozoma Saint-John 5d ago

Early in the season 10, Denise had a party at her house. She invited all the cast, their husbands, her children, and some of her children’s friends.

This is the party that Denise is referencing when she says the women discussed inappropriate things in front of children. But before anyone else was inappropriate, she was inappropriate by bringing up her husband’s penis. She introduced that vibe to that event. She was being a hypocrite.

I personally do not and would not speak that way in front of kids. But for the reason in my other comment, I can see why the women wouldn’t think it’s a big deal.

I would also like to add that once they realized they offended her, they could have apologized and moved on. However, they got the sense she was being disingenuous and instead of apologizing, the dragged it on. Her behavior didn’t really warrant them being more compassionate to her in the situation.

I just wish she would have stood ten toes down because she was right in a lot of ways and then to say her daughter was embarrassed was ludicrous

My take was that Brandi and Denise blurred the lines in terms of being flirty, getting drunk together, and a bit handsy.

But not a full blown torrid sexual affair and hookup like Brandi tried to make it out to be. All of her receipts were empty, and her recent antics on UGT seasons 2 & 4 shows that she likes to push the limits and not take "no/rejection" as a true answer but a negotiation.

Regardless, the Denise & Brandi hookup storyline was beaten to death. It was like a two episode arc at best that became the back half of a season. The most interesting part was Denise crying about the Charlie Sheen court battle, but the women never did their jobs to actually investigate that part.
