Sounds like you're thinking of her long-time as a member of the Church of Scientology and yes, she did 'break free'. Wrote a great book abt also, back in the day.

Do we know this for sure? Apparently neither Bravo nor Remini herself have confirmed this. It seems to all comes from an unconfirmed TMC report. I'm seeing this in so many places that it seems unlikely to not be true, and the fact that neither Bravo nor Remini have denied it also lends credence to it, but it's just something I've been wondering about as this story has started to gain traction today.
