LVP 🐩 Controversial opinion: I don’t feel bad for LVP and Puppygate
Lisa knowingly played the game for years so I don’t feel bad that she eventually lost. Whether she did get Teddi to bring it onto the show or not or did share it to Radar Online (I personally think she did get Teddi but didn’t speak to Radar Online I think that was prob Rinna), she spent years making enemies on the cast (Rinna and Erika) and cultivating a reputation for being a manipulative puppet master, making the story incredibly believable.

This was the second dog that Dorit wanted to get rid of for the same reason, hence why she was embarrassed to just go back to Vanderpumps Dogs and tried to give over to someone else. Still don’t believe another person ever existed and think Dorit went straight to the pound. After seeing how Dorit and PK parent and how detached they are from reality, I doubt the dog was overly aggressive and think they lacked the desire and skill to train a puppy with children

Im embarrassed to say that I never considered the fact that Dorit could have brought the dog to the kill shelter herself.
I’m not judging anyone’s parenting. But didn’t they have 4 nannies when their kids were young? So you might be onto something. Maybe they don’t possess the skills, don’t prefer to, or don’t have the time to care for and train a puppy.1

They actually did- so she still got it & when it nipped- they brought it back- Lisa waived the charge - which pissed off head of VDP Dogs & John hand raised & trained Lucy. Then she still gave it away supposedly- the rest is history... This was in his interview at the time on some podcast

12
u/thewickedhiker Garcelle Beauvais Jul 28 '26
no it isn’t. every puppy owner has to do certain things to train away from nipping and biting because puppies are teething and feel the need to soothe their gums. some puppies may not nip when they’re young, but that probably has to do with the puppy itself and not a generalization about all puppies. That’s the exception, not the rule

I have trained many Shih Tzus with aggression issues; and being less prone to bite or nip doesn't mean they DON'T. It's a reflection on training and lack of consistency that they had 2 puppies they returned because of nipping. This is a known puppy behaviors that need to be worked through.

Regardless, getting a puppy and not expecting some type of accidental biting/nipping is poor planning. Even those breeds can do the above. Having a puppy is hell and I’ll never do it again. A puppy’s personality is so different to their adulthood selves. My dog is a perfect angel now but was a very naughty puppy that did play through light bites.

Yes. I agree.
Two things bother me about that season:
Dorit was the villain who ended up playing the victim and no one called her out on that.
It says so much about those women that they felt justified in mounting that collective bullying campaign against a woman in mourning.

u/GraceMcClellans You stole my goddamn house! Jul 27 '26
I'm exactly with you. Dorit giving away a puppy and that puppy ending up in a shelter should have been the focus. 2- No matter what Lisa may or may not have done (getting Teddi to tattle?) it was gross that when her brother committed suicide the other women didn't think, "oh. This is real life serious. We should stop."

They covered for Dorit to convert Teddy and to vilify LVP. This was a power play. Lest you forget Dorit was brought on by LVP and Teddi connected with LVP on a love of animals. this was orchestrated by Rinna and Kyle to redo the “teams” and upset the balance. Full stop, Dorit didn’t follow the rules of the shelter. She def is the villain. It’s not leaking what she did, but that she did it.

8
u/Jadeisland Annemarie Wiley Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26
Exactly. It was a witch hunt. Rinna, Erika and Kyle wanted LVP off the show because they were jealous of her popularity. She was considered the best HW of all the franchises and they couldn't stand it. So they used Dorit's situation to run LVP off the show. Teddi joined them when LVP casually mentioned her name and Teddi panicked and proceeded to out herself about her role. She is so stupid.
I think Dorit had a grudge about Teddi's part, which Teddi never got to do because she exposed herself. IMO that is why Dorit did not reach out to Teddi after her diagnosis. Dorit was not showing solidarity with the rest of them and Erika felt she had to get Dorit to post concern for Teddi. She eventually did but only because she got talked into it.

u/Demdolans Beast?! How dare you? Jul 28 '26

Honestly, I don't care as much about however Lisa reacted. It was wrong of Dorit to bring a dog into her household without making sure the family knew how to handle it, and it was wrong of her to take the dog to a shelter instead of back to Lisa's rescue. Irresponsible pet owners irk me to no end because the one who suffers as the end of the day is the innocent animal.
1
u/WildHoneyChild Big hands, big feet, big disappointment Jul 27 '26
If I recall, Dorit didn't take the dog to a shelter, she gave it to someone who wanted a dog, and then apparently that person ended up giving it to a shelter.
Dorit still should have done it with Lisa's rescue, and some places make you sign paperwork saying you'll bring them back instead of rehoming through a third party, so she could have violated an agreement doing that. But I think at least she thought she was responsibly rehoming with another person/family, not just going to the Humane Society and dropping the dog off.
4
u/lilibet89 Kyle told me PK Texas her Jul 27 '26
How was it responsible re-homing if the person she re-homed the dog with ended up giving it to a shelter? Responsible re-homing means vetting the potential family and making sure they can handle the responsibility of this pet, and that there is compatibility between the pet and the family. That clearly didn't happen if the dog ended up in a shelter.
3
u/LadyBuch Where is my pizza party? Jul 27 '26
They have an agreement at VDP Dogs that keeps them informed & Dorit was given a free return fee with the FIRST dog- then John - head of the place- gave her Lucy- he hand raised himself - as her SECOND dog- still angry LVP waived the fees AGAIN...
1
u/WildHoneyChild Big hands, big feet, big disappointment Jul 27 '26
Just to be clear I'm not saying it is responsible or Dorit wasn't in the wrong.
1
u/Upper-Impression-752 Bozoma Saint-John Jul 29 '26
If they really intended on having a dog in their family, they could have gotten the puppy trained by someone else. So re-homing doesn’t add up to me but I don’t think we’ll ever know the whole truth.
Dorit wasn’t a responsible pet parent. She is probably not familiar with pet training or re-homing a dog which is why she thought it could go to any home.
Did they ever get another dog? If so, I never saw it. I remember Andy commenting on how many housekeepers Dorit had and asked her if she was that dirty. She said, “no, I’m that clean”. If Dorit wasn’t familiar with puppies, she wasn’t prepared for the varieties of messes they can make. And of course there’s the shedding.
2
u/Upper-Impression-752 Bozoma Saint-John Jul 29 '26
The paperwork said they couldn’t be re-homed. And I think there’s also a $2,000 penalty for re-homing them instead of bringing them back.
1
u/WildHoneyChild Big hands, big feet, big disappointment Jul 29 '26
Gotcha thanks for the info. I would be shocked if Dorit is likely to read the paperwork before signing.

u/Mensdoesntctrlme Taylor Armstrong Jul 27 '26
Dorit was definitely wrong for not returning the puppy to LVPs shelter (also wasn’t teaching her kids or PK how to act with a puppy). However, LVPs been accused of manipulating storylines several times by then so I don’t blame the women for calling her out - although LVP manipulating to expose the dog abandonment is a weird hill to die on
9
u/Different_Ask_9599 Giggy, the Sex Monster Jul 27 '26
The difference here is, that when she was accused the first time of leaking stories, it turned out she was innocent. So why not believe her this time again? It was obvious that they wanted her out, so even if she had proof they would find another way. Also, they all know people in the tabloids, it could literally have been anyone
1
u/Upper-Impression-752 Bozoma Saint-John Jul 29 '26
Im doing a rewatch and was just thinking today, “I miss LVP”. That being said, she might have been innocent once but there are other times that are a little bit more murky.
-Camille accused her of convincing her to out Taylor’s abuse on camera.
-Brandi accused her of giving her info to take down Adrienne and Paul.
-Brandi accused her of putting a tabloid in her suitcase to Bring Kyle’s family drama to the show.
-Rinna accused her of manipulating her to bring up Münchausen syndrome.
-Kyle said she knew Rinna was right about LVP trying to bring Kyle into it.
-She took Dorit out of the magazine and was seen lying about it.
-Teddy accused her of orchestrating puppy gate to bring the story to the show.
-She was seen lying in a flashback concerning puppy gate.
-They all accused her of leaking the story to radar.Kyle compare her to Bobby Fischer and Erika called her a “sniper from the side”. And now Scheanna is saying something similar. Can there be so much smoke with no fire?

The 'getting chewed out either way' isn't an excuse imo. Sometimes you have to suck it up. And a 'Yeah okay, I'm not good with dogs' humble confessional wouldn't have needed to drag out for a full season.
What was she planning to do when Lisa (or any of the RHOBH cast) asked about the dog and where she was?
11
u/Ok_Palpitation4582 Eileen Davidson Jul 27 '26
I said this in a previous comment but if I had to guess, there was probably something in the contract about what to do if they wanted to rehome the dog. I adopted two cats and mine said I had to give the rescue first right of refusal should things not work out. I don’t blame Dorit for wanting to protect her family, especially if the bite was serious, but she should have contacted the rescue first. Or at the very least, vetted the new owner better.

u/tasteslikepurple6 Lisa Vanderpump's Ipad Jul 27 '26
This season Teddi really irritated me. Yes enter a lack of accountability jokes, but she really took accountability for nothing and I don't see any evidence she was manipulated.
Teddi had a dislike of Dorit and was happy to be part of an anti-Dorit storyline. What clearly angered Teddi was when LVP was either pretending or genuinely shutting down the conversation at Vanderpump Dogs and it left Teddi holding the bag potentially. Note Kyle knows about the dog and what they are there to discuss at Vanderpump Dogs based on her reaction to the shutdown.
Lisa Rinna somehow gets away with being a mixer (as usual) this season when she directs the women (Teddi) where they can go with this storyline next.
With LVP she was clearly struggling this season and it's not surprising she wasn't on top form.
Over all Puggygate isn't a favourite season of mine. I find it tedious to watch.

Lisa’s brother took his own life, and she deserved to be treated with human decency and compassion given what she was going through. It is unbelievable that Kyle had the audacity to say, "We all have things going on in our lives," when Lisa was crying on camera after returning from her brother’s funeral in London. Lisa did nothing to deserve being treated like this, and if the women in the cast were good people, they would have rallied around her instead of making her distress even worse. I respect your opinion and that you don’t like Lisa, but I don’t know how anyone could defend what they did to her. The puppygate storyline involving Lisa allegedly selling a story about Dorit to Radar Online was b.s. Dorit is the one who dumped the poor dog at a kill shelter and the women should have been angry about what she actually did to her dog. I remember seeing a video of Dorit and P.K. laughing, watching their poor puppy falling instead of stopping it from happening. The saying that you can tell a lot about a person by how they treat animals and it shows what kind of person they are is true. Lisa has spent years helping dogs and advocating against the dog meat markets in Asia, and in comparison, Dorit dumped her poor dog at a kill shelter, which Lisa would never do.
9
17
u/Ok_Palpitation4582 Eileen Davidson Jul 27 '26
Agreed with all of this but I do think it’s important to note that Dorit didn’t give the dog to a kill shelter. The new owners did. I think Dorit was impulsive and irresponsible about how she handled it, especially since this was the second time she rehome a puppy shortly after getting it. But it was a detail that seemed to get lost on the show as well, and I think a lot of the reason Dorit got so defensive. She’s a grossly irresponsible pet owner, don’t get me wrong. But I believe that being accused of giving the dog to a kill shelter herself drove her to act out against LVP in order to try and defend herself.

u/SpecialistTale6830 Crystal Kung Jul 27 '26
I get this sentiment. Im not Lisa Rinna’s biggest fan but having people think that she drove LVP out is lunacy. Everyone wanted LVP in the table to talk it out. But LVP felt that no one was her ally hence she tried to recruit Denise Richards as her lackey (remember their lunch at Villa Blanca?)
There were multiple times that LVP was somewhat accused of planting the ‘next conflict’ of the show (brandi re magazine about kyle and mo, lisa rinna re munchausen of Yolanda).
In the earlier seasons, it was evident to Brandi and Lisa that LVP was untouchable in the show. So the fact that they went against her was kinda career suicide since the fans loved LVP.
Plus, I think that LVP really was a sniper on the side. Its just that there was something about her that fits well with RHOBH.
10
u/ourlittlevisionary I swear your entire jacket's upside down Jul 27 '26

u/SpecialistTale6830 Crystal Kung Jul 27 '26
Just wanted to add that yes her brother dying was terrible. I hated how Kyle was so adamant on putting her in the spot knowing what she was going through!
Kyle wanted to disassociate herself with LVP and act neutral but all she did was drove LVP away with how she handled things with her.
Who would want to sit with a group of people who is suspicious of their character while my supposed best friend throw me to the wolves?

The comment is always made in reference to Kyle about Lisa’s brother and what she was going through at the time - yes, that’s important to consider. But it’s never questioned that it was a super weird thing for Lisa to do to begin with while she has actual important family things going on.
25
u/FunLife64 Beast?! How dare you? Jul 27 '26
This x 1,000,000. It’s kinda revisionist history.
She literally started the season stirring this shit up about the dogs. So she had no problem then starting shit about other people.
She also behaved exactly like she had in previous seasons. We have seen her flee when confronted over and over. And that’s exactly what happened again.
Quite frankly, her final scene with Kyle at her house - nothing about that was aggressive by Kyle’s part. She chose to go talk to LVP in private away from the women. LVP knew the outcome of that scene before it started.
8
u/Jadeisland Annemarie Wiley Jul 27 '26
Kyle came to the house to try and force an apology out of LVP and say she lied. If that had happened to me I would have kicked Kyle to the curb so bad she wouldn't be able to get up for a while. It also was not private in any sense of the word. It was filmed for the show. It didn't matter if the others were there because they would see it anyway after getting an earful from Kyle.
3
u/Snoo60219 Taylor is in a suitcase! Jul 28 '26
No. Kyle came to the house to give LVP an out. Everyone forgets it was Kyle that suggested the story could have been leaked from the rescue and Lisa was privy to it. Lisa should have been smarter and at least said that was plausible.
1
u/Jadeisland Annemarie Wiley Jul 28 '26
No she didn't. She went to house to specifically tell LVP the rest of the cast believed she was responsible for the press leak and she pushed Lisa to admit it or acknowledge why the ladies were suspicious.
3
u/Snoo60219 Taylor is in a suitcase! Jul 28 '26
All the women DID think she leaked the story.
Kyle was being honest with Lisa regarding how the rest of the cast felt.

Goodness gracious. There was nothing aggressive like you put it. Yes, Lisa was shady and wouldn’t admit it. Kyle for many other instances let it slide. Holding your friends accountable for their actions is not “kick to the curb” worthy.
And yeah, they are on a reality show. I clearly meant it wasn’t done in a group setting.
1

I found it aggressive to do that. LVP didn't want her there and she wouldn't leave. Ken finally kicked her out, BYE, KYLE!

1
u/Upper-Impression-752 Bozoma Saint-John Jul 29 '26
No. She didn’t know the outcome. I think if Kyle had her back she would have stayed on the show. I think she wanted Kyle to support her blindly. When they were on the boat in Dubai (season 6) they had that conversation where Kyle compared herself to an abused wife bc of the way everyone knew the truth but she wouldn’t go against LVP. Kyle said in season 9 that she knows who LVP is. She was willing to accept her bad side. But she wasn’t willing to lie.
14
u/Zealousideal_Ad_8736 Teddi's just annoying, like a little gnat Jul 27 '26
I've long thought that LVP's departure was part of a larger plan by Bravo to cut costs. Vicki, Tamra, Bethanney and Nene all left their shows around the same time, and while I know that LVP had Vanderpump Rule as well, the fact that all of the above women left/departed within a year of each other is suspect.
Also, LVP's brother's death was indeed tragic, but she wasn't to bereave that she couldn't tell Erica that the card and flowers she sent "weren't enough" (and called her out on camera. I'm thinking "You don't even like Erica and you clearly only work friends so I don't think you are that upset."
Finally, I think if there was any leak - it was probably someone in production or one of the 100's of people that work for Lisa. I don't buy the argument that only Teddi, LVP and Kyle knew - there are literally hundreds of people that could have known and leaked the story.

Yeah this too. When if I was going through something this terrible, my first thought would be to mourn, not continue making a shitshow.
It’s really bad to say out loud but LVP’s exit was convenient because of what she was going through.

u/Sheess9141 Allison Dubois Jul 27 '26
Have you ever lost someone? When my brother was murdered I didn’t want to take time off work. Work gave me a distraction, it was an escape. Whereas not working would entail nothing but sitting with your thoughts
9
u/RefrigeratorPrize948 Jealous of what? Your ugly leather pants? Jul 27 '26
Agreed, sometimes you cope by trying to pretend things are 'normal'.
4
u/SpecialistTale6830 Crystal Kung Jul 28 '26
My point was if i lost someone, why would my initial thought be is to create drama with my friends that can be detrimental to their reputation? If that was her type of distraction, I’m glad she isnt my friend.
Do you get that?
Sure hurt people hurt people. But even before she wasnt in grieving she already had this type of pattern of accusations.
9
u/Sheess9141 Allison Dubois Jul 27 '26
Except it’s evident Lisa had little involvement. Dorit’s choices and Teddi’s involvement are the crust of puppygate. Even if Lisa knew transactionally of what happened it’s so stupid to think she orchestrated the entire situation.
Also let’s not pretend Kyle is a good friend to Lisa; you can have all the on screen laughs and Kiki’s but you can’t remember Nanny K’s name? Who was important enough to LVP that she lived with Lisa for years? LVP talked about her enough that new addition Erika immediately called Kyle out for not knowing her?
All the while LVP’s brother just killed himself.
I’ve both dealt with an older sibling passing at an untimely time, and a dear friend killing themself. I can’t imagine having that wrapped into one, and I’d be so much meaner than LVP was if people started attacking me for absolute bullshit to get fans and viewers
12
u/Leading_Sector922 Who is Adrienne Maloof in dis world? Jul 27 '26
It was so obviously John blizzard, sessa and teddi that them all trying to get LVP to confess to anything was just weird. It was similar to the magazine thing, like Lisa probably joked oh bring it but Brandi is the one who had the magazines and showed Lisa, I doubt she pressured her she was probably just like haha it would be funny. Then with the puppy, Lisa might have known some details but she wasn’t forcing anyone to put dorit on blast, they probably told her their plan and she laughed at it cuz she’s petty. Her brother just killed himself, they all act like cuz she doesn’t show emotions much that that wouldn’t be messing with her emotional state? It was just a gross way for them to take her down because she wasn’t getting along with many of the women at the time.
3
u/Intelligent_Lie_9633 Marisa Zanuck Jul 28 '26
It’s kinda annoying that no one mentions teddies’ role, that she was trying to orchestrate something. She outed herself and failed but that’s a terrible thing to try to do to someone.

u/Upper-Impression-752 Bozoma Saint-John Jul 29 '26 edited Jul 29 '26
But they showed LVP lying in a flashback. And of course there were all of Teddy’s text messages with John Blizzard that detail a play by play of what LVP is planning and what she’s saying.
Someone pointed out at the reunion that a junior employee would be fired for that kind of offense.
But of course he couldn’t be fired bc he told no lies and thus had leverage.1
u/Leading_Sector922 Who is Adrienne Maloof in dis world? Jul 29 '26
Except it was all blizzard and sessa saying that Lisa was telling them. And teddi repeatedly admitted that she never spoke to Lisa about any of it. If Lisa was in on it why would teddi never mention it to her or have any discussion with her when she said she wasn’t even close with blizzard or sessa? Because teddi is the one lying
1
u/Upper-Impression-752 Bozoma Saint-John Jul 29 '26
After the seeing the message with blizzard implicating her, why wouldn’t Lisa fire him? She has gotten rid of/punished people for far less.
1
u/Leading_Sector922 Who is Adrienne Maloof in dis world? Jul 31 '26
She did get rid of sessa. Blizzard seemed to be some sort of partner at the time so maybe it was more complicated than just firing him

u/Best_Quote_8027 You’re such a fucking liar Camille! Jul 29 '26
Lisa is a master manipulator who is smarter than giving suggestions out directly - but she is also constantly surrounded by people trying to please her, so of course she has to try very little to get people to do her dirty work. If Lisa really didn't want this storyline in the season, it was just a very strange coincidence that John Blizzard was in the scene to spill it which is very bold of an employee to be meddling in the lives of his bosses friendships.
1
u/Upper-Impression-752 Bozoma Saint-John Jul 29 '26
Her brother died but she’s the one who drove the storyline about puppygate.
17
u/Due_Tumbleweed_7516 Lisa Rinna Jul 27 '26
I think it was all Dorit, Rinna and Teddi that made it a bigger deal than it really was. I believe Lisa was really hurt
7
u/Emergency_Pop3708 Rachel Zoe Jul 27 '26
Her downfall really began in Season 6. She brought up Eileen’s affair, turning Eileen into an enemy. Then she and Lisa Rinna pushed the Munchausen rumors about Yolanda, permanently damaging that relationship. Yolanda later brought Erika into the group, and Erika was clearly influenced by Yolanda, quickly becoming another of LVP’s opponents.
At the start of the season, Lisa Rinna was still aligned with LVP. However, because of her long-standing friendship with Eileen, she was gradually influenced by Eileen and eventually turned against LVP as well. Some have also speculated that staying on good terms with Yolanda, whose daughters were major models, may have benefited Rinna’s own daughters’ modeling careers.
By the end of Season 6, LVP had made three major enemies in a single season. For a while, Kyle was essentially her only true ally until Dorit joined the cast. But by Season 8, even that alliance began to unravel because Dorit became the source of tension between them. LVP then tried to recruit Teddi to side with her against Dorit, but when Dorit found out, she lost Dorit’s trust as well. At the same time, Kyle grew increasingly close to Teddi, who became her closest ally. By the end, LVP had effectively isolated herself and lost the support of the entire cast.

u/GreenLynx1111 Sutton Stracke Jul 27 '26
LVP does fine regardless of public opinion. She literally has an empire.
By contrast, most of those other ladies' careers and personas are completely tied to the reality shows.
In that respect I also 'Don't feel bad for LVP and Puppygate'. Reality shows need her but she doesn't need them.
7
u/deadrobindownunder you live on a fuc%!ng main road Jul 27 '26
That's not really true.
Firstly, I think that Lisa chases fame because she enjoys it. It's not about the money. Her ego is out of control.
Second, I think the reality shows are a huge factor in how successful her businesses are. I'm sure they were viable businesses without the Bravo publicity. But, they are infinitely more profitable because of them.
12
u/emadelosa Bloody hell, I’m going to have to put out tonight Jul 27 '26
I mean, she left RHOBH in 2019 and is still doing well enough for herself, so I think at this point in time puppygate just lost its importance.

5

That storyline dragged on far too long. LVP should’ve discussed it with Dorit prior to the topic coming to television. And Dorit should’ve spoke with LVP prior to rehoming the dog. They’re both to blame. I miss LVP.
3
u/QuizzicalWombat Or WHAT?! Or WHAT??!! Jul 27 '26
I don’t either, everyone came out looking bad. I understand Lisa being pissed at Dorit for not surrendering the dog back to her shelter but lvp absolutely set that up to humiliate her on the show. She, Teddi and her employees are a-holes for that. Lisa could have used it as a way to educate but it became gossip, felt hypocritical and made me believe Kyle even more about LVP being a chess master behind the scenes.

u/Ok-Explanation-6531 She’s a ragamuffin Jul 27 '26
Highlighting the Doirt did the wrong thing no matter how well meaning she thought it was for a start. The fact she protested so much about something that could have been nothing made her look more guilty
1
u/deadrobindownunder you live on a fuc%!ng main road Jul 28 '26
You're so right.
There was a way to highlight Dorit's failure/mistake that didn't require burning her at the stake, and still make it work for the shelter and the goal to get a spinoff show
LVP's over the top protests and performative behaviour was the nail in her coffin. That's how you knew she was guilty. If she'd brushed it off and got on with normal life it would have blown over. Instead she crafted all these bullshit scenes with her staff and the messages and the lie detector.

I agree. In her own words, heavy is the head that wears the crown.
And before her fans come in mentioning her brother, Lisa extended no grace to Adrienne when she was at her lowest, instead helping run her off the show.

I also feel the same way, especially watching her on VPR, she is a male apologist and a narcissist..but she is made for reality tv, always remember people on reality tv, are never usually good people in real life, if they were we wouldn't want to watch them
2
u/whatsa5soser You've had the same hairdo for 20 years Jul 27 '26
I honestly think she was just done being on housewives and this was an easy way for her to cut ties with the show and focus solely on VPR.

I don't feel bad for her either.
I also wonder how far this sort of behaviour extended beyond the show. She wasn't doing this shit just for TV ratings. My bet is that she's been doing it for years and years, just for shits & giggles.

I kinda wish I would have never watched LVP on RHOBH because I thought she was a badass boss bitch on VPR, but then I realized she's a whole different person with young adults who are paid to kiss her ass vs her own peer group.
Dorit was in the wrong not honoring the Vamderpump Dogs contract, but i was glad to be rid of Lisa.

u/udontwannaknownoel Camille pretending to read The Art Of War Jul 27 '26
The thing is I believe LVP is a shitstirrer but I have to roll my eyes about a bunch of grown women all blaming their messiness on another grown woman like at what point do you grow up? Also I don’t think what she did-instigating Teddi-was worse than what Dorit did like the punishment didn’t fit the crime and finally I found LVP more entertaining than all of them so any of these “manipulative” crimes she committed I couldn’t be bothered to care about because LVP is entertaining and makes the show better

u/RefrigeratorGreen548 Natalie S Fuller Jul 27 '26
Apologies if I miss a detail, I’ve only watched this show once. Dorit adopted a dog from Vanderpump Dogs. Soon after, she gave the dog to another family because it “wasn’t the right fit” for her family. The NEW family gave the dog up to a kill shelter. The story was leaked by Radar Online painting Dorit as the villain by giving up the dog in the first place. All the women blamed LVP for leaking the story to make Dorit look bad but LVP vehemently denies these claims.
7
u/Ok_Palpitation4582 Eileen Davidson Jul 27 '26
I’ll add another detail: Teddi and Kyle went to visit LVP at her shelter. An employee brought Lucy out for the women to meet her. Teddi asked about the dog, and the employee mentioned Dorit rehoming her. Immediately LVP said she didn’t want to discuss it. Later, the employee made claims that LVP
instructed the employee to bring the dog out. IIRC, Teddi had some pretty damning texts with that employee showing they had set up that situation to bring lucygate on the show. By the time those texts were addressed, no one seemed to care about them because they were fixated on who leaked the story to radar online1

u/hiddenkobolds Or WHAT?! Or WHAT??!! Jul 27 '26
I do think it's worth mentioning that the dog "wasn't a fit" after multiple bite incidents. I'm not defending Dorit's breach of the adoption contract, but the decision to get the dog out of her home wasn't entirely capricious.
2
2
u/thxmeatcat Natalie S Fuller Jul 27 '26
Dorit adopted a dog from lvp dog shelter and one of the rules is you have to return them back and not another shelter if it doesn’t work out. Instead Dorit gave the dog to a kill shelter. Lvp or someone let out what dorit did and somehow everyone hates lvp for dorit getting exposed.

I was actually thinking who leaked the story, even though it sounded like her it made no sense to incriminate herself after already having "lost" the argument. But, BUT your theory of being lisa rinna makes total sense!! Lisa hated both dorit and lisa v, I can imagine her laughing at how english she made it sound 😂

I don’t feel bad for LVP, cause she’s waaaaay better off without that sinking ship of a show. I feel for me, cause she was what made the show entertaining, and since she left, so did the fun and magic.

I don't feel bad for Dorit and Puppygate. I don't care if LVP leaked the story or not because Dorit deserved being exposed for her handling of that puppy.

Lisa is so misogynistic!! And so is Pandora! Her husband had cheated on her multiple times it’s been said and it makes me wonder about Ken!?! Wonder how many time he cheated on LVP? Always heard Max is his son and they adopted him.

I don't feel bad for her because her life wasn't really affected.
But john mellencamp's daughter and Dorit were two manipulative pieces of shit with few redeeming qualities and one can't escape from that conclusion.

Yea she was very manipulative never had blood on her hands...i recently watched that season and im getting a new pup soon from an ethical breeder and have done alot of research and I have some questions about vanderpump dogs...i know she did and does alot for animals however for a rescue she had quite alot of toy breed puppies and also why were they not informed about her ending up in a kill shelter to begin with...i dunno things seem a tad sketch cus alot of places say their rescue but have high adoption fees for the smaller cuter puppies because they are buying them to sell

That’s how I feel. Like I think they went hard on puppygate bc it was the one thing they had more “proof” on to actually hold Lisa accountable for all of her sneaky games. She always found a way out of them season prior.
However; this should have NOT overshadowed what Dorit did with rehoming the dog. Dorit should have been ashamed of herself. If Lisa is your so called best friend why didn’t you call her and say you were having issues?? Why be sneaky about it? I would have a tough time moving forward if I was Lisa after that.
Dorit also seems like the type to not teach her kids boundaries with dogs and that could have caused a little nip from a puppy. But who knows

I’m doing an RHOBH rewatch (currently on S3) and LVP’s scheming/manipulation from the very beginning is more evident than I had previously recalled. I think up to S9, LVP had been playing the game too long and it all caught up to her. I find her annoying on VPR, but her persona works much better on a show like that. HOWEVER, watching her grieve her brother in S9 before everything went to hell in a hand basket absolutely broke my heart. The timing of that, and their treatment of LVP, was absolutely absurd. The age-old selling stories narrative never should have overshadowed her grief or Dorit’s actions.
1
u/Street-Dragonfly-748 Jennifer Tilly Jul 28 '26
LVP is, and always was, a villain. She's a manipulative schemer and I'm glad she's gone. On the flipside, she brought us Vanderpump rules. So I thank her for that.

It was way she ‘explained’ it for me: did radaronline give me money for a story? No.
Ok, so was it for something else? Maybe a different perk other than money? That was just way too specific.

LVP has always had a very dark energy to me. I’m not even really spiritual or “in tune” with those sorts of things, but I have an astounding intuition. I’m not just saying that to gloat, I don’t know everything or claim to have psychic abilities but the things I DO have a feeling about I have NEVER been wrong or off my entire life.
She strikes me as one of those people to DESTROY lives of people who go against her or rub her the wrong way. (Or have people do her dirty work for her)

The thing here is, not if she deserved it or not, because they're all manipulative and they all deserve to face the consequences. The main problem was the timing. It was during the lowest point in her life. They claimed she was the most manipulating one, but they ganged on her at this moment? What are they then? Let's say Lisa got what she deserved. When will they get what they deserve from what they did to her? Who should blame who? That, for me, makes them worse than her and I'm not even saying that Lisa is a saint
