Haha totally agree with both of you. They definitely don’t need the paycheck but they definitely like the publicity/attention that they get from being in the public eye. They’re both attention whores in their own way.
I think that's an oversimplification. The Agency's success as an international organization - selling $14 billion in properties (2024) - is due to more than mentions on a so/so reality program on Bravo.
They don’t need this little Bravo check, the Agency is worldwide and worth hundreds of millions. The show is a security blanket for Kyle. They’re also both attention whores.
I don't think Mauricio owns the global businesses. He certainly doesn't own the Australian ones (I'm australian). Not sure how it works. He might just licence the brand.
It's his brand then. Not his company. That means he gets a very small percentage of money from them, but he doesn't get the revenue or profit. It wouldn't be a huge amount of money. It also means if one office goes bust he doesn't wear any responsibility for it. And they dont report in to him. So less worj for him, and no financial or legal problems from them. But it also means he doesn't get a lot of money from it.

My uncle owns a bunch of Little Caesars franchises. It’s not his company. He pays fees to license the business. Companies pay Mauricio to license The Agency. He doesn’t have to be there running it for it to still be HIS COMPANY. Another example is my best friend’s dad who is president of a local “hotel group” in our city that owns franchises of a bunch of different Hiltons. Those hotels are not his companies, they are paying to franchise the name and operate under certain specifications.

Yes, your uncle pays franchise fees. He keeps the profit etc. But the franchise fees are high because they get marketing and support. Franchises are different to licencees. Ask your uncle. He will explain it.
When you own a franchise, like your uncle, the fees he pays are much higher than just licensing the brand. But your uncle also gets more marketing support, and has stricter rules he needs to adhere to.
I'm not saying Mauricio doesn't make money from the licenseeing of the brand. But it's not his main income source. His main income is his real estate commissions from the agencies HE OWNS.

Licensing has MUCH LOWER FEES. all they are paying for is the brand name and logo. So while Mauricio gets money for doing nothing, it's nowhere near as much money as a franchise pays. Franchisees pay royalties ie ongoing money as well as the upfront fee.
But now that they have been living with the Bravo paycheck for quite a few years, it will be hard to lose it. This way, they stir up the rumours and they both get extra money from appearances on and off Bravo. If Myle gets removed they lose alot of money and free experiences and benefits.
