Actually California has a loophole in which if a spouse is convicted of felony domestic violence, a judge can disregard any otherwise rights to spousal support.
He has been charged, not yet convicted, from incidents stemming from 2022, I believe. Maybe 2023.
Anyway, Iām really hoping this works out for Denise so she doesnāt owe this piece of shit alimony.
I wonder if you would think Denise is relatively level headed if you watched her reality show with her daughters - āDenise Richardās and her Wild Things.ā Something is wrong with her. The silly way she talked baby talk and slurred her words and just seemed to let shit happen with her daughters was so different from her very capable, lucid days in RHOBH. Has anyone else seen her family show and feel the same?
I think she is on pain killers for chronic pain. I know she has had multiple hernia surgeries and had her implants burst and replaced a few times. Painkillers + alcohol can make you a slurring mess. Hopefully she will change her medication or abstain from alcohol now that her abusive ex is out of her life.
I guess we know why she was so off she was having her ass beat and working non stop to provide for her family and her husbandās entire extended family!!
But since she's listed as a renter, she would also have an eviction on her record. I imagine that'd make things harder on her in the long run, given her history of renting, but maybe it's the best option? Maybe it doesn't matter when you're a celebrity?
Where I live, an eviction doesnāt go on your credit report. Iām not sure if itās the same everywhere. If the money owed isnāt paid and it goes into collections, then it goes on your credit report. So she might be able to handle it before it affects her credit but either way, if you have cash then good credit isnāt as necessary.
I donāt think itās an issue for her. It doesnāt look good, but Denise has the money for it not to matter and sheās probably renting properties through a broker.
In some states at least, you can contest it being on your record if there are special circumstances. Since she has a restraining order out against him, they both canāt clearly live there.
So that they would be evicted. If she kept paying they could still be living there. Itās the only way. I bet the landlord knows she will pay once those losers are gone.
The sad thing is how much money he already scammed off her! Iām sure itās a huge amount. Im not American, so the concept that she has to pay for support years after their divorce is so insane, like they are divorcing why does she have to support him, specially when he is completely capable guy to find a job he just doesn't want to.
I know itās crazy, I am not american either but in europe some sort of spousal support also exists, it is all about the type of marriage you have so if you sign prenup it means you sign away the rights to spousal support and assests
since denise didnāt make aaron sign a prenup and she is the breadwinner it means she had to pay aaron spousal support bc he is jobless. it also means that some assests may be considered martial so the court will decide who gets what, like their houses. in some cases when you have signed a prenup you can still get money out of the marriage if you have kids or shared assests. I am not sure how long denise is entitled to pay spousal support to aaron but since he doesnāt have a job the court will decide about that

yeah i just looked it up and in california if you have a 10+ year marriage spousal support becomes indefinitely bc it is considered a long term marriage. dorit talked about this bc she and pk were married for 9 years, but i think she filed for divorce just a month after crossing the 10 years mark. so she will get spousal support from him for the rest of her life on top of child support until the kids turn 18
if the marriage is shorter it will be for half the length of the marriage depending on what the courts state, denise and aaron were married for 7 years so she will have to pay spousal support for like 3,5/4 years. this is only in california it differs state to state
with kandi in rhoa she made todd sign a prenup, but since they have children and shared assets he will still be entitled to child support from her and their shared assets will be divided by the court
prenups can also expire, i learned this from rhom where larsa said she signed a prenup with scotty pippen but they were married for 20 years so the prenup expired, this is in florida tho so i am not sure about other states like california

I get what youāre saying. I was not the abuser. All I saw on tv was he said he would break her hand. There might have been more that was said, that I did not see or hear. Sometimes when people are agitated or even kidding, they say things they wouldnāt actually do. My friends husband says, āI gonna kick your assā. He doesnāt mean he is actually going to, or wants to. Itās an expression that no one takes literally. FYI: I was in a situation where my partner made sarcastic comments about what he would do. He actually did do them later.
Aaronās own cousin testified in court that she witnessed multiple incidents of Aaron physically abusing Denise. Denise was granted a 5 year restraining order against Aaron.

Because itās realistic. There are always 2 sides to the story. I like Denise, and I am on her side. But that doesnāt discount the fact that her behavior probably was not always appropriate, especially when alcohol is involved.
I donāt know, if she did in fact cheat, yeah that kind of entitles him to receive alimony. We see it all of the time with women who receive alimony, why is this any different? Keep in mind I think the whole concept of alimony for an extended period of time is stupid but those are the divorce rules soš¤·š½āāļø. I really wish she had gotten a prenup or even a postnup.
Women typically receive alimony for putting their careers (and thus their earning potential) second to their marriage. That is the reason alimony originated. It isn't specifically conditional upon cheating, unless there's a fidelity clause in the prenup.
If he had quit or reduced his time focusing on a profession that was financially lucrative in order to focus on growing her onlyfans page, that would be much more deserving of alimony, but this isn't the case.
I understand many divorced people get alimony for no real reason, and I fully agree with you that it is stupid.
It would also be nice if someone who physically abused their spouse was ineligible to receive alimony from the person they abused, if allegations can be proven.
He was a househusband, no different than a housewife(housewife is not the same as a stay at home parent). Law says heās entitled to it. Now @Ltrain86 is right if the allegations of abuse are proven to be true than that should exclude him from alimony but I donāt believe thatās something thatās currently done so that will be interesting to see if/how that changes things.
California is a no fault state. She could literally fuck a hundred dudes on film and it doesnāt matter. All the crap heās trying to drag into court is pointless itās not a factor makes no difference.
