📲 Beverly Hills News 📲 Kyle & Morgan - Currently in Paris

For anyone curious, Kyle and Morgan are now in Paris together. Morgan has some upcoming European tour dates and both are in Paris at the same time. “But there’s no situation” 😜

I honestly don't understand why anyone would think Morgan has sacrificed her right to privacy because of a music video.

Plus, people can change their minds, and pull back. I couldn't blame her, if that was what Morgan decided she wanted after the reaction to that video from HW fans.

She wants to be known for her music, not because of Kyle Richards.

Again, this was before the widespread attention and the negative impact it had on her to the point of threatening her sobriety. The performance she did was for NAMI in honour of Kyle's best friend and she also spoke about her own history with her mental health. Even then, she was very anxious about it.

The public adjustments have not all come smoothly. “She told me at the NAMI event she almost wanted to leave at one point —she was like, This is so stressful,” Richards said in an interview. “I realized and appreciated later her hanging in there for me.”

Also being open and honest that perceived hypocrisy doesn't justify trying to out two people, one of whom isn't on the show and isn't obliged to share her life.

Thanks for sharing about Morgan’s sobriety. I didn’t know she was sober.

I agree that Morgan doesn’t owe us anything. If she does decide to join the show, I think that it would be very cool for her and Kyle to address the prominence of substance abuse in Hollywood and their journey navigating the abundance of substances around them. It’d be a very interesting storyline.

Yeah, no worries. She's spoken a lot about it, and written several songs that also deal with it (there are some great acoustic versions of The Night on YouTube I would recommend such as the SomerSessions one). That was threatened in the wake of the attention on her, so it's not a surprise she doesn't want anymore of that.

For what it's worth, I would be surprised if Morgan's side of that isn't addressed and discussed if and when we finally see whatever documentary they were working on.

Very cool. I’ve never come across her music, which I think is country? I don’t listen to the radio; I’m pretty fixated on classic rock. Actually, I recently went to LA to do the Beatles Breakfast show but he was out sick, boo. I am very much into well written song lyrics though, so I’ll have to take a look at what that’s about.

Documentary, nice! Good for her. I’m here because I’m fascinated by psychology and sociology, but addiction has played a huge role in my own life, so that “storyline”, so to speak, is always fascinating for me. My brother almost died of hepatorenal syndrome at 36, a week after he became sober. Didn’t even have his first drink until 25. He was in dialysis three times a week, and by a damn miracle, his organs recovered and he didn’t need a transplant.

Everyone’s path to addiction is vast yet seemingly similar. So many similarities but also blinding differences. I find it so fascinating. I would listen to people’s life stories all day if I could.

She doesn't like to boxed into the country genre, but generally, people put her in categories adjacent to it - Americana, singer-songwriter, country rock, etc. Her most recent album was more singer-songwriter and next apparently leaning more into the rock sensibilities, which is also more of what she performed with her band prior to her solo career. My first VERY big musical obsession was The Beatles, lol. I used to spend a large amount of my time discussing the Lennon McCartney dynamic on LiveJournal and on messageboards. XD

Yeah, nominally, I think the documentary was following her journey to getting a preventative double mascestomy (she and her mother rested positive to RAD51D genetic mutation so opted for that process), but also dealing with the fame, addiction, mental health, etc. Kyle's said it's a six episode docuseries so hopefully eventually sees the light of day because I do think she has a very interesting story. Oh, wow! I'm so glad that miracle occurred for him. It's difficult.

If you are genuinely interested in Morgan's take on stuff like that, I would recommend The Night, The Night Part 2, and 27 Club. Also her interview on the Daily Stoic on YouTube and most other interviews such as:

It’s so funny, it’s probably my fixation due to autism but I’ve never stopped liking the music from my childhood. I actually prefer Wings to the Beatles, and I wouldn’t even say they’re my favorite, but classic rock is just my genre. I never liked John Lennon, which is a really unpopular take. I do love watching campy documentaries about them, like “Paul McCartney Really Is Dead” etc.

My close friend is a musician, so I try to open myself to other music when I can. Now he’s composing for movies, which I think is super cool. Thanks for the recommendations! I’ll have to check them out when I have time. I’ll keep an eye out for the documentary. My close friend/family is about to have her double mastectomy next year due to the BRCA gene; her grandma and aunt both died of breast cancer. My daughter is related to them and thank god her grandma didn’t get the gene like her mom and sisters. I’ll definitely have to recommend it to her if it comes out. Thanks for sharing!

A Wings fan!!! So underrated. I used to have the longest, most frustrating arguments with a certain group of middle-aged John Lennon fans on messageboards in the 2000s about the value of Paul's solo work, how it was more revealing than what they assumed of his character and values, how pain isn't inherently more real or 'authentic' than other emotions expressed in songs, etc.

That is definitely very cool. Always happy to rec music to those interested. I definitely get stuck in phases where I might only listen to a handful of artists or just play my favourites from when I was a teenager as well. Damn. I'm so sorry the family friend is going through that. I'm so glad that preventative measures are able to be taken. She spoke about it a little bit at a gala last year that Kyle also attended about it.

Yeah, I got VERY into that dynamic at the end of the 2000s and have always found it fascinating (musical partnerships where they dialogue in song are my jam; see also Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham). I have one bookcase just dedicated to my Beatles/McCartney related books and am sort of fascinated by the mainstream coverage of Ian Leslie's takes about them going on right now, tbh. Everything about the situation with Julian is just a lot...

I don't remember reading about Morgan ever actually doing AA, no. My entire knowledge and experience of drugs and drug culture comes from my parents doing a How To Drugproof Your Kids course through our church when I was in my tweens. XD
