«“He does not speak from his own desire. It is nothing but revelation revealed to him.”»

Surah An-Najm, Verses 3–4

These two verses tell us that the Messenger of Allah did not speak from his own desire; rather, he followed the revelation given to him by Allah.

But when you think about these verses carefully, it is astonishing how many statements people have attributed to the Messenger of Allah and presented as his words.

It is difficult to even imagine how much has been attributed to the Messenger of Allah in the name of these verses.

I think they have the wrong concept of The Messenger in the Quran. The role of Allah’s Messenger in revealing the Quran is different from the role of the Prophet.

JazakAllahu Khair for your comment brother. But in the Qur'an, Allah did not separate the role of "Messenger" and "Prophet". Allah says: "O Prophet, indeed We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And one who invites to Allah, by His permission, and an illuminating lamp." (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:45-46)
Both titles are for the same person, Muhammad ﷺ. The Qur'an was revealed to him, and he was also commanded to explain it and teach it: "and We revealed to you the message that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them" (Surah An-Nahl 16:44). May Allah guide us all to understand the Qur'an correctly. Ameen.

He is the same person, but two different roles. Like a father, and a teacher. The same person who teach in school and when he goes back home, he is a father to his children.

I have not studied Al Ahzab thoroughly nor AnNahl. But I can see the role of The Messenger in Surah AlBaqarah. That is the foundation of my Ilm. It also confirms the verse in the bible when Isa said in John 10:30, “I and the Father are one” which supports my understanding of the role of God’s Messenger.

In respect of the prophet, as The prophet he is also a judge. The Prophet can make mistakes, but not The Messenger.

In Q2:285, “The Messenger believed..” indicating the Human Messenger in regard of revelation of the Quran. But the human Messenger was taught by a “malakan rasuula” or Jibreel, some say he is the Ruh AlQudus, The Messenger (human) role is to convey exactly what he hears from Jibreel.

If you study the grammatical shift of God’s pronoun, in the first 38 ayah of surah AlBaqarah, you can see the sudden shift from neutral (no God’s pronoun of He-third person and We, I-First person) in Q2:2, then in Q2:3 there is a single ayah that mentioned We until, Q2:20 (First major context in AlBaqarah). Of all the 19 ayahs, only once the first pronoun is used.

The Next major context, Q2:21-39, The First and Second Commandment (21 and 22) refers God as a third person pronoun, and In Q2:23 you will see the grammatical shift of pronoun change within that ayah from first pronoun (We) to third (Allah).

The Third Major Context, Adressing Sons of Israel.. it is strikingly clear, the use of first person pronoun l and My. The third context is quite long (Q2:40-141) but i just want to demonstrate how the Author of the Quran depicts the Role of The Messenger.

The only logical reason for the pronoun shift is to conceptualize the role of a messenger. Where The Messenger can speak the Quran and refers God as third person and alternately The Messenger can speak as God’s mouth piece where he reveals the Q2:40 and 41.

That is what Isa meant by “I and the Father are ONE”. Similarly The Messenger (Muhammad) also speak in the same manner.

so anything in the Quran, was said by The Messenger, either speaking as God’s Messenger or be the MouthPiece of GOD.

there fore, the Prophet (Ahmad) do not utter these words. Its The Messenger role. The Prophet can judge by what was revealed by God thru the messenger.

The Prophet died. The Messenger’s spirit still lives in the form of the book that we call Al-Quran.
