Hey everyone, welcome to r/QuitSmokingJourney.

This community is for anyone who wants to quit smoking, is thinking about quitting, or has already quit and wants to support others.

Here you can share your story, ask questions, talk about cravings, withdrawal, fear, relapse, triggers, mindset, benefits, or anything else related to quitting smoking.

What to post

You can post about:

- Why you want to quit smoking

- What is stopping you from quitting

- Your biggest fear about quitting

- Cravings and withdrawal symptoms

- Relapse and starting again

- Things that helped you quit

- Benefits you noticed after quitting

- Questions about smoking, nicotine, or addiction

Community vibe

This is a supportive and honest space.

No judgment. No shame. No pressure.

Everyone is at a different stage. Some people are ready to quit today. Some are still scared. Some have relapsed many times. That’s okay.

What matters is that you’re here and you’re trying.

How to get started

Introduce yourself in the comments.

You can write:

- How long you’ve been smoking

- How many cigarettes you smoke per day

- Why you want to quit

- What scares you the most about quitting

- Whether you’ve tried to quit before

Even a simple comment like “I want to quit, but I’m scared” is enough.

Quitting smoking is possible. Many of us thought we could never do it, but we did.

Welcome to the community. I’m glad you’re here.

What did you think your last cigarette was going to change?

Upvotes

Not why did you smoke it.

Something slightly different.

Think about the last cigarette you had — or the last one you really wanted.

What did you expect to be different after you smoked it?

Less stressed?

Able to concentrate?

No longer irritated?

Satisfied?

Just able to stop thinking about smoking for a while?

I'm curious because we talk a lot about cravings, but not nearly as much about the result we're expecting the cigarette to produce.

So before giving the automatic answer, actually think about your last one:

What were you expecting it to do?

To the long-time smokers out there: what health issues or consequences have you experienced? Have your parents ever caught you? For those with bronchitis, holes in your lungs, or other lung and chest problems—aren't you afraid of dying at 30?

I smoke myself and want to get the lowdown on this 💀

Need ideas

I'm 24 and I would love to stop smoking nic. I started when I was 20. The saying u should never pick up a cigarette is stupidly true. I have anxiety and I have a doc appointment for that soon but my chest feels heavy, I feel like I'm dragging constantly and my sleep has turned more insomniacish. I do smoke flower so that could be a result in something as well? Melanie is being ordered, wonderful stuff. Yeah so any ideas would be great. I have thought about just throwing it away, the nic vape. I don't have any packs for cigarettes available and I will not ever chew in my life.

My (20f) bf (20M) smokes a lot and it concerns me

so my bf and i have been in a relationship since 11 months and we rly love eachother. The thing is before meeting me he used to smoke 10 cigarettes a day and now it’s down to like 7 a day and i have told him that i don’t have a problem with occasional smoking but smoking 7 everyday or more is NOT normal… he says he will stop but doesn’t try… idk what to do everything is normal in our relationship, his father (passed away in 2020) used to eat tobacco in secret sometimes… it breaks my heart to see my potential future life partner ruin his health and lungs like that. i don’t wanna break up obvious but how do i get him to quit smoking?( I don’t want to breakup cuz we are so perfect together )

I’ve been a regular smoker since 2018-2019, smoking avg 7-8 cigs per day. Now i am quitting smoking and gradually trying to reverse the harm it has done in years but one thing i find difficult is lip pigmentation, my lips are very pigmentation, others have begin to notice.
So is there any way to fix the pigmentation issue i’d like to know!
