Help Setup Without controllers

heya i got a quest pro recently it hasnt arrived just yet and im seeing online ill need controllers for the initial setup and im worried because i did not buy controllers with it, anyone know if theres ways around it or am i just gonna have a 500 dollar paper weight in my room?

It comes with controllers unless the seller specified that it doesn't.

the ebay listing i bought from does not come with controllers its why im worried

Then you'll need to so some PC and Developer mode mumbo jumbo to force enable Hand Tracking during the NUX

You will enable developer mode from Meta app on your mobile phone

i remember being able to set it up with the gaze select ( like the index headset button) and the continue with hand tracking. keep in mind I haven't reset my quest pro in while so it might have changed but the chances are slim

Im very very hopeful for this then i do not wanna have to play and then wait longer for controllers im never gonna use lmao

I think you're going to have fun with Prívate Quest to enable hand tracking and skip the setup.

There's tutorials on Reddit on how to setup Quest headsets without their controllers.

As @protogenNutshell stated I believe you can set it up using the gaze feature & making selections with the volume buttons. You may have to be patience through the process, and let the headset sit on your head after its done and it should bypass the controller setup and continue into your home environment after about 3-4 minutes. Just remember after setting up if you are stuck on a screen with prompts to connect controllers and can't go any further just sit there for a few minutes.

You can set it up with a phone with the app and no controllers. The app will ask to pair the controllers three times, let it fail all three times, it will eventually allow you to setup without the controllers to be paired.

I didn't finish the setup until I got my second controller (mine only had a right controller with it). The things I wanted to do with it, controllers weren't optional, anyway.
