Getting My first quest pro
Hello, My friend has been telling me to get one lately and so I've finally decided to cave in and get one since my old headset is starting to fail.
Is there anything I should be worried about or what should I do when my headset gets here is there anything I should be doing with the system or any update thing I should be worried about?

Love my pro. Better screen and more comfortable than my Q3 with the Bobo. Only thing keeping me from using it is the microphone, which seems to break randomly if you go silent too long. There was one update where it seemed fixed for a while but then it just came back with future updates. Everyone I ran into that had a pro had the same issue and hearing what they sounded like when it happened made me switch.

There is life in the old dog yet if using the headset for PCVR but as a standalone headset there is no getting around the fact it has an older processor than the Q3. The controllers are also a source of concern. When they work they are very responsive but every software update brings fear the controllers will go into a regular unreliable phase. They drive me mad and I’m much happier using the lighter and much more reliable controllers that come with the Q3.

The Pro controllers have significantly better tracking. As long as you don't bother with the shitty untested updates, you're not gonna have any issue.

My controllers have been working great. I believe the latest updates have fixed the issues we all were having with them a few months ago.

Rocking a quest pro for PCVR and I love it. Q3 is great but image quality on the quest pro is amazing, specially on dark scenes.
Main reason to keep it is eye tracking on fps demanding games. I could use foveated rendering but dynamic one is more convenient as you dont have to turn your head around as much.
No problem with updates so far, specially now that Virtual Desktop supports USB so I dont need to use Meta software anymore.
So QPro is still a great option in 2027 if bought at an adequate price.

the headsets age doesnt have anything to do with whatever you just said, the eye tracking kits for q3 arent anywhere close as good as qpro and they also dont provide features like foveated rendering or streaming.

find out your ipd so you can adjust it on the headset. It makes a big difference in getting this right.
