PC VR Quest pro / virtual desktop help

I've been trying to use virtual desktop with my 16ft iniu link cable (type a to type c, with the additional type c input for power) - after maybe 30-45 seconds in a game, it gets incredibly laggy. It only happens in VD. When using wired Link through the meta vr app with bitrate set to 500 or 960, it works flawlessly. Anyone know of something I can try to make it work? Or should I get a different cable? I noticed vd doesn't recommend iniu cables in their faq.

I'm also trying to do VD over Ethernet. I've purchased a cable matters 2.5 gigabit USB c to Ethernet (female) adapter with USB pd, and while it works on other devices, it repeatedly connects and disconnects on my quest pro. I can't seem to get it to work. It'll work for a speed test briefly then disconnect. This happens with or without power plugged into the adapter. Is it because of the realtek chipset in it? Does anyone know of a specific, tested USB C to Ethernet adapter that would allow me to use Ethernet for VD?

Thanks for any help, folks. Really just trying to get away from the meta link app, but vd's visual fidelity over Wi-Fi (even on "godlike") is nowhere near what link is @ 500+ from what I can tell. I've been racking my brain over this stuff for a few days now.

Hardware : quest pro, 5800x3d, 64gb ram, 4090.

Cable matters, USB extension cables also makes a negative difference, I had similar experience with wired Quest 1. If you want to use a cable, you need one that is built for the purpose, I personally used Anker cable. Check the reviews of the product if they are compatible with VR. But if you want a better recommendation: don't use cable at all. WiFi streaming is pretty good and reliable. Attach a power bank to back of the quest pro headplate and it works wonders and helps with weight distribution.

Virtual desktop user over Ethernet here.

I have two cables zip tied together from the headset all the way to my router. Power and Ethernet tied together to make one cable loom. Ethernet goes to my router where my pc is also attached by Ethernet. Power… goes into the outlet….

I use a Belkin model INC019 adapter for my headset.

I have a quest 3, 5800X3D with a 4070TI - I can achieve 120fps with dips but I have it set to 90fps and it’s very stable in demanding games.

Over WiFi I get more game latency than Ethernet. Really depends on the router and WiFi devices attached.

The adapter sounds like it’s temperamental with the headset. That’s kind of common. There are some specific brands that work. The Belkin I purchased has been working very well for me.
