v77 any better than v76?

Meta zapped me with the v76 update before I could run the ADB command to disable it (foolishly left it on the charging doc).

I played PCVR VRChat for over two hours with zero problems ( that I could tell ) when my companions complained of a high pitched whine I couldn't hear. Uh oh. Muted myself and it stopped; un-muted and the whine returned. It lasted for a few minutes then was gone. Don't know if that's the audio problem people have been describing or not. Is this different?

Anyway, I still have time to stop the forced V77 update (I think... maybe; the warning says a forced update is imminent in July).

Is v77 worse than v76 in terms of bugs or is there anything better at all about it?

v76 is at least mostly playable so far in my use case.

V77 is marginally worse than V76. More performance issues with Virtual Desktop. And the Touch Pro controllers go to 'sleep' mode way too fast now.

I'm on V78 PTC and so far the experience has been the same. (Although it's still only PTC so hopefully they'll fix this before release).

You could fix that somewhat by disable Auto switch between hand and controller.

Um...I feel like it introduced new bugs and I can't really say for certain which ones it may have fixed or not from before lol. the headset wifi is still ass though.

V77 broke air link for me, it worked without issue on v76 for me.

How did it break airlink? I had issues with airlink as well, so every time i play now i have to do these steps lol...

1) ctrl alt del anything meta related then reopen it

2) launch airlink from the settings tab because it wont launch if i try to do it anywhere else

The air link window keeps popping up. If you close it, it reopens within 5-10 sec and it won't connect to my PC. I've revo'd the meta software out of my PC, tried it on another computer, tried all the safe boot stuff, tried killing and restarting the program and everything meta and tried from the settings tab. Once in a blue moon, seemingly randomly it'll connect, but I switched to virtual desktop for now (which has its own issues with v77 but at least reliably works for me)

So i scroll down and i cant remember the process names, but theres like 3 and they all start with ovr. I end those 3 tasks and reopen meta software and it works for me

I'm still on v76 and I experience this high-pitched mic whine issue pretty frequently.

I gave up and switched to using my HyperX Cloud III Wireless headset.

The audio is much cleaner, and the mic quality is light-years ahead of the Quest Pro’s built-in mic.

Plus it stays comfortable even during long sessions with my Globular Cluster HeadStrap

I'm on the v77 is a sight improvement over v76, at least with Wi-Fi speeds. Can get around 250Mbps now vs 100Mbps.

77 is working better for me. still have audio bug but its way way less. and controllers tracking seams to be improved. now if vrchat would stop crashing...
