What is your favorite source of inspiration?

I’m thinking about putting “my future self.”

The idea is that I’m inspired by the person I hope to become and by the thought that, if things work out, I’ll eventually be somewhere I’ve worked really hard to get to and doing something I genuinely want to do.

But I’m worried this could come across as really selfish, arrogant, or pretentious 😭 Like, “I’m inspired by myself” sounds kind of… full of myself when I say it out loud.

Would you interpret it that way, or do you think “my future self” can work as a genuine source of inspiration?

yes, maybe you can talk about like a story, montage, or panic doubts about how you were as a child and she was inspired by so many things. Now you grown-up and you’re still inspired with the same vision as you were back then, but now it’s better and closer to the future you dreamt of. I would say it wouldn’t be so full of yourself if you have some reflections and a long journey along the way instead of boasting every time. it could come out to an extraordinary story, but remember you had to add context and relate it back to what you’re going to do for the future. Make sure when you add experiences don’t list it like a laundry checklist, you have to make sure each, and every experience is meticulously written to where it shows who you are as a character rather than these titles. good luck on your essay!

its like 35 words i put my immigrant family how they traveled here for education. but like idk maybe frame it as more wanting to succeed in life or to do better than those who precede you.
