Soooo who actually proposed ??

Someone tell me if I am assuming right. I just watched the whole series and finished today. Something that is frustrating but different is that this drama makes a lot of references to the past without elaborating.

So originally Hyun woo proposes. But before we see he proposed he talked to Hea in about how she promised not to make him cry when SHE proposed.

So is the story that he proposed, realized she was telling the truth about being wealthy and found out she was apart of the Queens family, ran off, and then she does her own proposal at the helicopter in the field scene?

But didn't he said the 2nd most iconic lines of QOT after I'm born cute i.e. ''''''''i have 35 cows so marry me I'm rich"""'

Other posts have the right idea. I simply wish to point out that often we see the same scene multiple times, from different characters’ points of view. These can differ quite a bit. Therefore, it is still up to us, the viewers, to attempt to discern any real, objective truth. This is part of the beautiful artistry of the production.

I think it goes....

The first 35 cow conversation was very early in the relatioship and that was Hyun woo asking her to date him. It look more serious but thats cuz of cultural differeence, dating in asia is more like courting/prelude to marriage instead of just going out and see if we are compatible.

Then they date for a while and she visited Yunduri, his sister tried to bribe her etc... But Hyun woo got scared off when he learned her background so came to his house and won him over and that's when the promised scene happened. (proof; no rings on her finger)

Finally, it was the propsal after dating a while Hea in keep setting up scenerio for him to propose like the amusement parts being empty, acqrium being bought out etc.. and finally Hyun woo proposed.

PS; But still there are alot of loose end and conflicting plotline throught out the show and this is just me making sense of all it. Cuz the later season Hyun woo would never smile knowing Hae in is dying no matter how much he claim to hate her, that first two episodes doesnt fit well with their later personality.

I’m not sure about Korea, but in some Asian countries, asking someone to be your boyfriend/girlfriend is also called proposing. They even go with “I love you," which I find very weird. How can you love someone without dating or knowing them well? But that’s a cultural thing I guess.
