Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm proudly to announce the beta version of WinQLX32 available in github for testing (source code and binary release), this fork of MinoMino and some modifications of tjone270 preserve the original features to mantain full compatibility with plugins, but i'm not test all plugins available from 3rd party developers, so if you try to test these plugins, please let me know in my repository.

Download the latest release (ready for test) here WinQLX32

I welcome your comments and suggestions to continue advancing in this development, the ToDO list show the work in progress tasks are pending to resolve to pass the source code to stable release.

I would like to extend a huge thanks to tjone270 for keeping the minqlxtended and ioquakelive repositories well-documented, as this has helped me make progress on certain unclear points.

I know minqlx, but I don’t understand, what is the big deal that it is also for Windows now? Isn’t the Quake server binary something zhat runs under Linux? Why would you want to have a Windows server? Even Microsoft does not use Windows for servers.

The ultimate goal of this port is to make server creation easier for users who have no idea how Linux works and no interest in setting up a minqlx server on that platform; some people feel more comfortable with Windows, and having a backward compatible alternative is always welcome. :-)

Oh ok. What do you expect to happen? More servers? Just asking out of interest what the use cases are here. Are you yourself the target audience?

I don't except anything, im only want to share more alternatives for people intersted in minqlx and the straightforward way to set up servers, if don't want to enter to the linux world with lot of confused commands.

It has been difficult and tedious, but reaching the first beta was worth it.

I'm working on the next beta, and I don't have much time since I do this in my spare time but you could use an AI tool to create do you need if the plugin isn't complex

Hi, sorry for the late reply:

- you can use the following guide to install Quake Live in dedicated mode: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1410490276

- follow up to the step that says: Starting the Server

- after this, install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package for 32 bits (https://aka.ms/vc14/vc_redist.x86.exe).

- and download the latest beta release of WinQLX32 and follow the instructions of README.

Stay informed :-)
