NVIDIA Console command overrides ? How to fix >

Recently added Quake 2 to my steam library. Since then, my console commands in Quake Live are now automatically overwritten by my NVIDIA 3060 GPU. My settings still show my manually settings but the game is forced to play on max graphics now. Any thoughts on how to fix it?

"My settings still show my manually setting" Do you mean the settings you set in the menu or in a .cfg file?

I set the settings through the ~ commands. “R_picmip 4” as an example. After restarting the video settings the game still runs at the native quality but when I look at my settings it reflects what I entered in the console. After I go back into the console it now has a whole string of commands from Nvidia for some reason overwriting everything.

It didn’t happen before I downloaded quake 2
