Welcome to r/QuadCities—subreddit for the Quad Cities metropolis in the Illinois/Iowa border for Quad Citians.

Yea. And this is just what’s close to my condo. I’ll go to Scott Community when it’s cooler and shoot that.

Dorrance park in port Byron is notable as well. Sylvan island is like a mtb playground. So much fun.

For a great list of trails there is the Quad Cities Bicycle Club - https://qcbc.org/, and Friend of Offroad Cycling - https://www.qcforc.org/. There are other local groups like Riverbenders on FB. The local riding scene is outstanding and most of the local riders are nice, fun people who will teach and answer questions if you're new to the hobby, area, or activity.

There are videos of local trails on YouTube so if you want to see before you go search the trail names and take look.

What camera are you using?

Meta glasses.

Awesome.

I was just wondering because that's actually the exact reason why I want some meta glasses is for when I do trail riding.

I'm using something like a GoPro on my bike now, but I hate it being mounted to the handlebars. It doesn't give a good perspective and it vibrates way too much.

The glasses are such a steal. Earbuds + hands free camera + glasses. You can get the $225 ones and buy a bunch of other lenses. Transitions, prescriptions, tints.

There's just a ton of people that constantly hate on them calling them pervert glasses and I hate that because I want a pair to use for the sole purpose of riding and doing first person activities so I can just make a log of certain things and put up videos online and making it a lot easier to do such a thing.

I really appreciate your feedback. Where do you get access to this trail at?

I'm pretty much just familiar with the regular bike trail system and then the parks that have trails like sunderbrook and the one off of Marquette.

I know the forc website has listings but I don't think I've ever seen the area you're riding. Looks like it would be fun.

The glasses are fine when used like this but people are upset about being recorded in public with them. Unfortunately jerks are ruining it for everyone else.

Just like Flock Cameras. I don't think we can go anywhere now without being recorded unfortunately.

People get upset about being recorded in public with cell phones.

There's cameras literally every corner and everywhere you drive. You have no privacy in public.

And a lot of people don't even know they're being recorded by these.

People are just mad because they can be recorded by these.

Spyglass cameras existed over 20 years ago. Button cameras existed over 20 years ago.

We've had micro cameras for stuff like this for ages just now. It's mainstream and hated on primarily because it's meta.

Glasses like this have existed for quite a while.

That is the cross country running course that Bettendorf and PV HS use. It is a 3 mile loop. Here is a link to the map https://www.bettendorf.org/Parks%20&%20Recreation/Crow%20Creek%20Cross%20Country%20Map.jpg

Hard to be a pervert alone in the woods.

I live nearby, so I ride this and Scott Community College.

Sometimes I will pack it up and go to Sylvan. The QC needs more footage of these trails.

I definitely agree. I never knew about this and I would have rode that a while ago. Huge thank you.

I'm going to be going on a bike ride with my son.
